I started gaining weight after I quit smoking 10 years ago. I have tried all the weight loss diets and gyms without losing much weight. I have had three back surgeries and three knee surgeries. Before my recent back surgery the surgeon wanted me to lose weight. I joined weight watchers again without much luck. I only lost 7 lbs. The back surgeon recommended me to Dr. Blackstone and I am still waiting to have my surgery. I am not even scheduled yet. I had my back surgery in Aug. 2006 and was hoping to have the lap band done in Oct. or Nov. That didn't happen. I have gained almost 20 more pounds after my back surgery because I couldn't do much exercise. Since it was a spinal fusion, they did not want me doing anything except walking. I just want to have this surgery over with and get on with my life.
