Going into WLS I am 26 years old, single, no kids except my doggie. :) I had high blood pressure and triglecirides and bad cholesterol. I debated over WLS for years and after some research and encouragement from my best friend, I decided to talk it over with my PCP. He referred me to Dr. Neff - I went through an info session with him and immediately knew that VSG would be my best choice but at the time my insurance would not cover it. I slowlllly started all of my pre-qualification stuff and after 15 months was done and had my surgery date! Once I was done with everything VSG was being covered by Aetna so it was a no brainer for me to choose that over LB or RNY.

I am now at 4 weeks out since having my surgery and am down around 36/37lbs since surgery!! WOW! I had a rough week and a half immediately after surgery. I was in more pain and discomfort than I had expected, but this was my first real surgery so I was probably just naive going in. I have had no nausea, vommitting, or intolerances since surgery. After having my drain removed a week post-op at about 10 days out one of my incisionns started leaking ALOT (probably 2-3 ounces in a 2 hour window) Dr. Neff said it wasnt common, but has been known to happen. No infections or leaks (knock on wood). I joined a gym and have been following food advice - getting in my protein a fluid daily since 2 weeks out. I go back to work in a week and am just going to relax and mentally prepare myself for stress-taking this last week for planning meals at work and getting my gym routine down.

I am SO happy with my decision and wouldnt change it. If anyone reading this has questions, feel free to drop me a line! :)
