3 Months

Where to start....I had my VSG 11/8/10 so I'm just over the 3 month mark now and even though I'm not far out yet - I am so overwhelmingly happy with my decission and the life changes I've made thus far.
I joined the gym about 3 1/2 weeks out and was going consistently up until 2 weeks ago or so. We had tons of snow here, work got in the way, etc. Blah blah blah - bottom line is that I need a kick in the ass and need to stop making excuses and get my butt back. It's been harder these last few weeks because even without going I'm still seeing consistent weight loss of around .5lb a day. I just need to tell myself - what could it be if I WAS going to the gym consistently. So THIS week I am comitting to going 3xs!
I have lost 71lbs since my surgery date 11/8/10 and I have no idea of inches because I never meausrued. So pre-ops make sure you DO because I wish I had! I was definetely a food-aholic before and I am NOT going to lie it has been a struggle! The head hunger sucks, but I am managing. I still THINK about food and stuff I miss and want, but it's just not worth it. I went through this whole long process - I refuse to self-sabotage and cheat myself. I have been great with not overeating now - I don't eat until I'm full, I always try and stop before I get to that point.
I started in a very tight 24 and a few 26s in pants and 3xs and 4x tops depending on brand etc. Right now I am in 22s and 20s in pants and 1x shirts and I just CANT believe it! I actually went shopping yesterday and bought things from the regular side of the store!! My friend and I are going to Boston for St. Patty's day and we wanted matching tops - she found one we both liked but there was NO way that was gonna fit me...I tried on a LARGE and it FIT!! It was snug in the boob area but in a month I will have no problem! (Although I have had a serious talk with the girls and told them they better not shrink much...) People are telling me everyday how thin I look - what me? THIN? Muahaha!! But WOW! it feels good to hear! Work is sending me on a trip next week and I will get to see someone who I met at my heaviest in my before pic (below) who hasnt seen me since! I can't wait!
Here is my before pic and here is today! (I just woke up and no makeup but you get the point! LOL)

7 weeks POST OP
Dec 27, 2010
Hey everybody!!
My pre-op weight was 350 and I'm 5'9 (highest known weight probably 365, but PCP scale did not go that high) I am 7 weeks out today and I am down 48lbs. The beginning of my post-op journey was tougher than expected with pain and discomfort but apparently I am just a baby. LOL I have had no other compliications - no nausea, no dizziness, haven't vommitted once (knock on wood), BMs are normal, no serious appetite, etc.
I joined a gym and got a trainer, who refuses to work me out until 8 weeks and has set me up in "Beginner's Aerobics" much to my surprise, when I go for the first time I find out it is actually SENIOR CITIZEN AEROBICS...LOL (no offense to the seniors) Being only 26, I was very caught off guard. But it is actually perfect for me at this point. On my off days from that I have been trying to do Wii fit to get my heart rate up a bit.
I have gotten myself into a routine which I think is really helpful - I'm back to work which has been a breeze. No one really has been bothering me with questions. I have been eating 3 "meals" a day, 1 snack, and 1 protein drink. I have no problems getting my fluid and protein in. I feel so fortunate because I know this is not the case for everyone.
Good luck to all my OH peeps out there wherever you are in YOUR journey. I know I am SO happy I did this and can't wait to look back 6 months, 1 year, etc from now and say WOW!
