Finally Sleeved! It's been a long time coming.

Dec 11, 2011

I started this journey over 2 years ago. Went to 3 different seminars an d dozens of appts. and Finally 4 days after Thanksgiving Drs office called me and ask if I wanted surgery? (i was on list) Since I'd eaten so miserably Thanksgiving, I had been telling myself that if they'd call me, I'd say YES in a heartbeat! Well by the grace of GOD they did call and exactly one week later I was sleeved .

Was last surgery of the day, everyone was so gentle with me and good to me, it was great! Later that night the pain meds via IV had me severly itchy. So they kept me Benadryled up!  I still couldn't rest, not to mention I felt llike I had to pee every five minutes and everytime a nurse came in, or janitor, or anybody for that matter, I asked to go to the bathroom. Of course not much in = not much out I thought, but anyway they counted my bathroom trips as exercise.

Still itching and taking dryl but they are trying to let me go home. So that evening they made sure I'd have the right meds and ultrasounded my bladder and found I had way too much in there although i'd been to the bathroom 20 times. I ended up getting a Foley catherter. So went home with meds and catherter and jp drain.

Back to the Dr for Foley removal. Releif but still itching with a rash now. Feeling pretty miserable just want to get some rest.

Trip to ER because the drain is leaking fluid all over my clothes. Of course i'm thinking this thing is coming out
When i got there they re-dressed my drain and gave me benadryl(they noticed the horrific rash) and sent me home.

Trip back to ER! Why because I woke up that morning with burning sensation and an early cycle WHAT IS GOING ON!!!?????
I'm totally embarassed to go tell them i think i have an UTI on top of my cycle, WHY? because the thought of them having me trying to pee in a cup, after surgery, while on my cycle, was and still is
Non the less, they did find that I had a severe UTI and severe allergeric reaction to the pain meds I'd been taking.
PHEW WHAT A 1ST WEEK I'VE HAD.
I am now home doing better althought that rash isn't budging but at least i'm feeling better and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
I'm very pleased and have already lost over ten pounds.
To GOD be the Glory!
