Congratulations on your surgery! The next year is going to be the most amazing of your life. I just want to let you know that here in the beginning is the toughest part. You will feel better than normal soon! These first few weeks and the surgery will only be a memory and you will be on to your new life. I am 13 months post op and I have lost nearly 130 pounds. I went from a size 24 to a 4 in a little over 6 months. Miracles do and will happen for you. I have tried to keep a profile that can be used as a resource. That answers all of the questions that I had when I was in your shoes. And links to various places to do more of your own research. If you have any questions or just need someone to talk to that understands please feel free to email me. In all things Remember, that the one above loves you, that He holds us all in his loving arms,He knows each of us by name.He said anything you ask for in "my name" will be given to you.So in His name I pray for you, that you be given strength, endurance, love, peace and most of all long life.In Jesus' name. When you wake up and see the faces of your loved ones in the recovery room, know that you have made it.Thank Him,Know that you have been blessed to see and to live out the rest of your days with the ones you love and the ones who love you.....Knowing that He loves you too. Happy soon to be ReBirthday.

Hi Melissa, I can relate to your feelings about altering your physical body via surgery, and the process of research and exploration as you discern what is best for your own health and wellbeing. Best wishes and positive, healing energy being sent your way as you prepare yourself for surgery this Thursday, and for the procedure and recovery also that they be smooth and uneventful. May you achieve success beyond your deepest longings and dreams for your new life ahead on the "losing side". (loved your profile/personal comments very much)

Melissa... congrats on your upcoming surgery date!! Mine is 6/18 & I can DEFINITELY relate to the "eating everything in sight" syndrome!! I feel as if I'm doing the same thing and keep wondering, "HOW AM I EVER GONNA GIVE THIS UP??" LOL But I know I can do this, I have God behind me and I have the awareness of 30years of morbid obesity to drive me forward and to push me into this newer healthier ME I'm striving for!! YOU CAN DO THIS, Melissa!!! I'm sure it seems hard for you to imagine, as it does to me, but we'll get there!! God bless!! :-)

Hi Melissa, Do you still do karate? When I saw your recent post I think I remembered that you used to post about that. I remembered because it is something I always wanted to do but was afraid of at my weight. I started about a month ago....Seido karate. It is frustrating because I feel so awkward and like I will never get it, but I really do not want to quit or give up...I want to do this. Any words of wisdom? Good luck on the upcoming surgery....it was the best thing I ever did. I wish for you an uneventful surgery and recovery...and then a very eventful journey! Maureen
