I have been overweight since my early teens. Looking back I think I felt fat before I even was overweight though. I think sometimes the way people make you feel is what you will become. I remember feeling fat as far back as third grade. I remember a boy calling me a fatso I don't remember the boy himself but just the way that it made me feel. I look back though and I see the pictures and I'm not any bigger then the average child. In high school I felt huge and sure I was a little chubbier then most kids but I was not the house that I felt I was. I was about 240 until I had my Daughter I did not gain weight during my pregnancy I actually lost some due to all day sickness. After I had her I was down to about 225 but then I had the depo shot and gained 55 lbs in a year. I stepped on the scale one day and saw 280 lbs looking back at me. I went into freak out mode and starting eating better, taking metabolife and walking on my lunch break I lost about 45 lbs. I then stepped in a hole and broke me heel bone, I have never heard of anyone breaking their heel before lol but I did. Oddly enough its the only bone I have ever broken and it had to be a freak one. I was at home and stuck in a cast for about 12 week and totally stopped the diet and gained most of it back. A year or so later I ironically went to work at a weight loss clinic and did the program there which involved Phentermine and I was able to get back down to about 235. Stayed that weight for a while and moved in with my now husband and we both gained some weight together I was about 310 in 2004. I herniated 2 disks in my back and I was seriously down for about 6 months I couldn't drive or sit in a chair for that 6 months. I could stand up for a short period of time or lay flat. I have nerve damage from that as well which caused me to have Bells palsy in the beginning after the first 6 months I was starting to feel better but then one day I went numb from the waist down. Not numb where I couldn't move anything just numb where everything felt really strange. Most of the numbness has gone away but I still have numb feet, makes walking really different. Stairs are a nightmare I have to take steps like a 80 year old woman, very embarrassing. From 2004 until now I had gained about 60 more lbs my highest weight every recorded is 378 lbs, I am done I refuse to gain another ounce this is ridiculous and not where I want to be. Since meeting with my surgeon and completely cutting out sodas I have lost about 18lbs. I have met with my surgeon and I am having the VSG hopefully soon. I was going to have the Rn-y back in 2009 but I let my Husband talk me out of it at the point I was at 246. He isn't the biggest fan of me having the surgery. Honestly I think it's based on his insecurities not a legitimate reason.
