I have my appointment with Mercy today. It is my first apponitment with them so I'm not sure what they are going to do. The lady told me that I will be there for 4 hours. I'll update tomorrow to write about what they did.

Today I just feel like crying!!!!! I feel like this is never going to happen!!! I have to have a sleep study done(that is part of Mercy's rules) They called to set up the appointment and they can't get me in until May 30th and then I can't see the Doctor at the sleep study until June 15th. This is taking forever. So unless I get approved by Aetna To go to Grinnell I won't be having this done until ?????????? who knows when!!! God give me patience. I really wanted this done this spring, but unless Aetna approves me that is not going to happen. Also Mercy requires you to buy 2 months of protein from them which is $400.00 and the vitamins from them which is $50 and you have to pay $175 not sure what for. You have to buy it before they will do surgery. I would buy it Friday if I knew I could have this done sooner. It feels like I have been waiting forever. I'll keep this updated when something knew happens. Bye

Well Aetna still has my claim as pending. I don't know what is going on. I heard that Dr. Swartz is leaving Grinnell but I don't know when. I also found out that my approval is for May 30th to June 4th. Today I had a phone interview with Mercy Capitol and have an Appointment with Dr. Smolik on May 11th. If I haven't gotten an approval by then I'm going to Switch Doctors. I just don't like the fact that Dr. Swartz will do the surgery but not be there for aftercare. Also Every time I go there I will have to pay 30% if my husband isn't working for UPS for my secondary insurance. Mercy is in network so it might be better to go there. I'm not sure what to do, but I have decided not to get my hopes up for a May surgery. May GODS will be done!!!

I still haven't heard anything from the my second insurance. I was hoping the surgeons office would call and give me a date since I have approval from one insurance but they haven't. I'm going to call on Friday if I still haven't heard anything.

Well last time I updated UHC had told me they hadn't received any info from the doctor yet. Well guess what Friday I got a letter from them that I WAS APPROVED!!! Now I have to wait for Aetna to approve me and then I can be happy and tell my family. If Aetna doesn't approve me I have to switch doctors because Grinnell is out of network. I'm at least excited that I have one approval!!! I'm just going to keep praying. I'll keep this updated as soon as I know anything.

I just called Aetna and they received the info from the doctor on April 2. UHC still doesn't have it yet. I'm going to wait until Monday and if they still don't have it I going to have it sent again. Brenda finally returned my call on April 6 to tell me she had submitted this to insurance. I guess she is just busy. That is why I'm checking with the Insurances. I guess I'm just impatient. One of my friends told me to be patient it really hasn't been to long. It feels longer to me because I have been wanting this for a long time, but my appointment with Dr. Schwartz was only 3 months ago. I just wish I knew if I'm approved. I will just keep praying.

I talked to a lady at the surgeons office and she told me that they have everything they need and will be submitting for approval this week. I should know something within 30 days. I'm going to call both my insurances next Monday to see in they have it yet. I will just keep praying let Gods will be done. And that this is Gods will. I think I found out how to put pictures on my site. I'm going to try and post a picture and see what happens. It worked I now have a picture on the site.

I just called Dr. Eastin office and they sent the copy of the Eval on March 14. I called the Surgens office and talked to Brenda(who was really nice) she said once they had that they would submit it to both of my insurances. She aslo said to send in the letter from my gyno that shows my weight for the last 5 years and my WW book. I hope they can submit it by Monday. I would really like to know if I'm approved by April 5, that is my birthday. That would be a really great birthday present!

Everything went wonderful with my appointment on Friday. DR. Easton was great. He is going to send his eval to the surgeon this week. I'm going to call on Thursday to see if they have it. Then they can submit for approval to my insurance. I hope everything goes ok.
