It has been a long time since I have posted.

So much has happened. 

Moved from CA to TX

Had another baby

Got Divorced

Weight has fluctuated a bit....

Best I can say... The food addiction and the struggle never end! 

Do your best! If yesterday sucked... today is a new day!

You were given a second chance... Don't waste it

Today was my 2 week post-op appointment.  Incisions look good, got cleared to exercise & basically do as I please. 
Dr Boghossian was hilarious! He was a bit mad about me starting food early (even though it was just a few days & I'm pretty sure most of the huffing & puffing was for show) but he totally cracked me up with his attitude today. 
So... back to work on Monday, try out different kinds of food while I go, and most importantly.. get your protein in & sip, sip, sip  =)  

 So.. surgery was on 1/11/11.. got home on 1/13/11... still in pain. then suddenly got hot, BP dropped & I started seizing  (well the seizure part my hubby told me)  EMT rushed me into the ER whee they did an ultrasound & saw that I had all sorts of free-floating fluid in my abdomen. 
Well, they paged my surgeon who came in right away & said.. let's hope it's just blood. Gonna prep the OR right now. 
So.. blood it was.. 2 liters of it... who knows where it came from, but so.. yeah! 
Dr Boghossian has been great though.. checking up on me even (while he was out running around with his kids) though his colleague was there & would've been able to remove my drain yesterday. 
So here I am.. feeling really sore but SOO much better than last time I went home.. hoping I actually get to stay here..... *sigh*

 January 11th... WOO HOO!!!! 
 

So.. I weighed myself at home & I could have sworn the scale said 196.  (ok, so in all fairness, it's not a digital scale AND I weighed myself last night, but then had a latte today) but I was still disappointed when I weighed in @ the surgeon's office this afternoon and it said 199.1.  Oh well, 3 more pounds to go  is not bad I guess.  But crap.. who would've thought it's that difficult to loose 9 friggin pounds!

So I had my Ultrasound on 9/28 (rescheduled for a morning appt)
I figured.. so while I'm here @ Kaiser I might as well get the lab done
No go!!! Dr Boghossian put on there that I can't take it until after 10/1.. what a brat  ;o)
I figure.. fine.. I'm really thirsty.. haven't eaten yet... I'll get some water (no food or drink pre-ultrasound) and then go upstairs to weigh in so they can note my 3 lbs lost  (from 205 - 202)
HA!!! So I thought
So I have been sipping water, can't get the lab done and am now waiting upstairs to get weighed in.
I feel good, think I actually lost more weight.....  the front desk clerk goes:  ok.. I'll just go ahead and log your weight so you don't have to keep waiting.
I figured.. ok.. that's nice, go back there with her.... she says:  There's someone using the room back there, so we're just gonna weigh you on this scale.  I say.. ok
204.4??? are you kidding me?  I KNOW!!! I lost weight!!! I have been really good.. AND I hadn't eaten anything that day!!! What-friggin-ever!!!!!
So now I'm a bit irritated!

First Consult was today
Dr Boghossian seems great.  concerned with patient safety first and foremost, very realistic and knowledgeable!
I think I'll like this guy! I hope I'll like him  LOL

9 more lbs to lose! (to 196) 3 lbs lost so far!
Nicotine urine test & ultrasound to pass

He basically gave me a deadline of early november to have stuff completed and results to him by

ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday 9/22 and lab tests need to be done by 10/18

so.. mental health clearance... check!
nutritionist clearance....check!
appointment with surgeon.... check!  

September 16th @ 9 AM!!!   I have butterflies... how weird  =)  

 Had my "mental health evaluation" today!
and I quote:  " I have no concerns regarding you having the surgery" 
WOO HOO

So.. was @ Kaiser in Fresno yesterday for my Bariatric Orientation.
I am getting really nervous about them denying my surgery for one bogus reason or another.
I don't want to use the CPAP for the rest of my life!
I want to have the energy to play with my children!
I don't want to be disgusted when I look in the mirror anymore!
I want to be a better person! A healthier person! A good example for my kids!
UGH... this is so frustrating!
The help I need is so close, but I have to be able to convince the "beaurocrats" that it's ok
Anyway... there's my vent =)
