My Food Update, 10.5 months out

Oct 21, 2008

I tend to go very low carb with my diets these days, which I know contributes to my deficiency issues. There were weeks within the first 4 months that I lost NOTHING! So I really had to step up watching what I eat. About month 7, I stopped losing weight just from the surgery alone, and I could feel that my pouch was already tolerating more and more food. So that's when I made the decision to crack down on the carbs. I've given up bread and pasta. I'll eat whole grain every once in a while, but I try to get my carbs from rice or the occasional Wasa cracker.
-Fruits - Still can't tolerate, any really. Applesauce is as good as that boat is going to get
-Protein- I eat a lot, also because of low carb, it tends to be high protein. Plus eggs are pretty easy for me to get down in the morning. I also recommend Atkins Bars, the Chocolate Peanut Butter ones. Yum.
-SOUP!!!! I eat soup all the dang time still. It helps me keep from stretching the pouch out more than I already know I have.
