Let the journey begin

Rice and beans have been my best friends for 30 years! I am originally from the Dominican Republic and those two cannot be missing during dinner.  My parents would always think that if we did not eat rice and beans we weren't healthy. Sadly, I find myself doing the same to my kids.  But things are about to change!!!! After reaching my highest weight ever at 253 lbs, I decided to start the process of approval for VSG.  My doctors were all onboard and helped me with all the paperwork necessary to submit to insurance.  I remember submitting papers on a Friday and the next Tuesday I was receiving the news of my approval.  Here we are a month later!  When I saw how everything was just falling into place hassle-free I knew that it was meant to be. I got sleeved on 6/16/14. This was the best decision ever! I am looking forward to the changes. Not only do I look forward to starting a healthy lifestyle for myself but also for my family.
