02/09/2007 Hi everyone, MY name is Mindi I am from Brownsburg, Indiana. I have been overweight most all of my life. I began trying to get surgery about 3 years ago. At the time I had an HMO insurance and they would not approve me to even get in to see the DR to talk about the surgery. At the time I was working for a life insurance company. Last year I made a life changing career move and moved to being a claims processor for the largest medical insurance company in America. So I have a tad bit better insurance now. my out of pocket is higher with the insurance I have now versus my HMO insurance but they are more open to covering things. I went to a seminar in December (my fourth one) I was trying to find the right DR. And I realized that DR Clark is the one surgon I would trust because he did my hernia surgery a few years ago. I have had all of my preop tests done (that upper GI is yucky!!!!)and I went to see the psychologist yesturday for my psych eval. Keep your fingers crossed everything comes out ok. If the psych eval comes back ok I will be ready to submit all of my doccuments to the insurance company for preapproval. So Pray with me that everything will work out. I want to be on the losing side!!!!!

I called the Dr's office today and they said they have all of my medical tests and are just waiting on my psych eval to turn my info in to the insurance so I called the psych Dr and he said he got my results back on the bubble test I had to take and everything looked ok and that he would have his recommendation to DR. Clarks office by Wednesday. I am getting excited then if my insurance approves me I will be that much closer to becoming a permanent loser!! Please pray for me and keep your fingers crossed

Dr. Clarks office submitted my paperwork on Friday to my ins company I am praying for a quick return of an answer. Please keep your fingers crossed for me. I have become addicted to this website. I can spend hours a day just going through peoples journals and looking at photo's reading posts on the forums. Funny thing happened today. I ran accross my ex husbands wife's profile on here and she is having a baby I am really happy for them I know how much he wanted to be a father. We tried to have kids but I had a miscarriage and lost the baby. None the less I am happy for them! I have a great husband and two gorgeous step daughters. Kayla (my oldest step daughter) won 1st place at her regional dance compettion last weekend we were so excited for her. she has nationals in July I am looking forward to that hopefully I will have my surgery by then and be on the losing track. Well I will update when I have more news til hen keep smiling :o)

well I called the ins company today and they said they hav enot received the faxed paperwork so I have been trying to get ahold of the insurance lady at my physicians office she has been busy so I am waiting for a return call. I am an Anthem associate so my PreAuth is done by a different site who is for Wellpoint Associates and the pre Auth lady I talked thinks the DR office may have submitted the paperwork to the local plan in which it was sent to the wrong place UGH!!! Well hopefull I can get this cleared up soon!! I want an answer already...lol

I got ahold of someone at Anthem today and the third person I talked to found my paperwork so they got the ball rolling on getting me approved. I just got a call from a nurse that works for Anthem and they assigned her as my care advocate nurse in case I ever need to ask her some questions. That is nice I haven't ever had an inurance take much of a personal interest.

OMIGOSH Today is the day I got my approval!!!!!!!!I called my insurance this morning and they told me it was in review with the dr and to call back in the afternoon. I called at 2:20 and they said it was Approved and they are sending a letter of approval to my home and the weight loss center!!!!! I am so excited. The Weight Loss center closes early on Friday so I will have to wait til MOnday to talk to Nancy at the weight loss center on the next step. I can't wait til I am on the losing side!!!!

I got into a wreck with my civic so my hubby and I are going to go look at new cars today I want a truck though. Maybe it's the country girl in me....lol 03/12/07 Hey all I go for my pre op class on thursday 3/15/07. I am looking forward to that so I can start buyinh the things I need for post surgery. I had a date of March 28th but I had to change it to April 18th 2007 8:00 am St Francis Beech Grove. I needed to give my boss some time so I coud finish up some projects that she has me doing. So are you wondering what kind of vehicle we bought??? Well went to look at a suburban but ended up getting a Expedition. it is my baby I have only let my hubby drive it once....lol I kinda took it over...lol He doesn't mind though he goes with the flow. that and I think he likes to be chouferred (sp?) around. 3/20/07 I am less than a month from my surgery date I am excited and nervous. I had my preop class last week and it was pretty informative. I got a chance to meet some of the great people from the Indiana forum this past weekend. It was so nice to meet people who have been or are in the process of the same thing I am who can offer support and I can make some new friendships without all the drama.... had a bad weekend after the Tea party... Anyway LESS THAN A MONTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 3/17/07 Well tomorrow is my big day!! I am very excited and also soooo nervous. I know everything is in God's hands. I wrote my just incase letters to my family and I will tell you that was the harderst thing that I have ever done. you just never know what could happen and I want to be prepared!! Man has it been a ride!!! I am just shy of 3 months out and I have lost 64 pounds and I am 65 pounds from my original goal. I know as I get smaller I will most likely lower my goal.... I have had some problems with strictures and have had to have scope procedures and balloon done to correct them. I am gonig tomorrow for another scope procedure. I am getting divorced and moving to the south side of Indy... My husband decided 2 weeks after my surgery that he wants a divorce... I guess I am in line for a new life all around

Well so I am down to 181 pounds which is just shy of 100 pound loss. I have 31 pounds until I reach my original goal. I am so excited I have gone from a size 26/28 to a 14 and still losing. It hasn't been easy I have been sick and had strictures but I am getting better now. I have my own apartment now and I am loving it. I have also met a great guy who is really supportive. He is a Fireman, EMT, Hazmat Tech and a rescue diver. our schedules are both hectic but we make it work.

Well I am down to 159 and loving it. my easter dress is a size 10/11 Wooo Hooo... The fireman and I are no longer together but I am ok with that no worries we just weren't meant to be. I am still doing well I have to admit I catch myself eating things I shouldn't and am very lucky I haven't gained any weight back. I need to change my background because I have changed quite a bit even since then. I ahve uploaded some new photos to my photos that are just shy of a year out. well update more later
