"I am a 58 year old female who has recently had a gastric bypass. I am NOT obese but had severe reflux disease. I have had 2 failed reflux surgeries and was a high risk for esphogeal cancer. My Internist referred me to Dr. Dyer to see if a gastric bypass would be the answer. When I went to see Dr. Dyer,he spent a very long time with me discussing what could be done and the risks and benefits of a gastric bypass. He felt that a bypass would be the answer to my reflux problems. He spent time answering my questions and never made me feel like He was in a hurry.( I have to admit thought I think I threw everyone in his office off because I was not obese). Dr. Dyer is a very caring and compassionate person. His office personnel has been very helpful and understanding. I am now 2 weeks post op and have had No reflux for the first time in almost 30 years. Dr. Dyer has been my life saver and hopefully now I can live a more normal and healthy life because of Him. I have lost 54 lbs since my surgery(I was NOT obese when I had my surgery)I have been a diabetic for 20 years and have been on a Insulin pump and high blood pressure medication since I was a teen. Last week my Internist took me off my insulin pump and my hypertensive medication. I feel like a new person. I have not had any reflux since my surgery and have now been able to sleep through the night without being awaken with the acid.rn Dr. Dyer is a lfe saver and I have the greatest regards for him and his staff who have helped me through some rough times in the beginning.
