2 days post op and things are finally looking up.

Aug 02, 2008

2 days post op and, finally, things are moving along.  I didn't realize how things can be different from one person to another.  Even having 13 years of nursing experience didn't prepare me for what the post op adventure had in store for me.

First and foremost, pain.  Need I say more.  I didn't realize that my pain threshhold was so low.  I am still taking tylenol xtra strength.  Compared to my knight in shining armour, Carlos, I am the biggest whimp in the world.  Carlos only took the occasional tylenol for discomfort.

Secondly, I didn't realize how much "hot air" I could carry.  Holy cow, does that ever take a toll on you.  And then came the discovery of a lifetime for me, warm fluids.  That is how I released my "hot air".

The incisions aren't as bad as I expected them to be, in pain or looks.  I already see a difference in them.  The healing process is already on the move.

All in all, I think I am not doing so bad.  I especially thank, firstly, my God for having pulled me through this step, secondly my shining knight Carlos for all his support and love and thridly, all my friends on and off OH for your support.  You guys ROCK!!!

I can't believe the day is almost here

Well the title says it all.  I can't believe my surgery day is almost here.  It's incredible how quickly time flew.  It's seems like just yesterday I was approved and now I am battleling the hunger pains from being on clear fluids for the 1st day.  You know what they say:  Whatever doesn't kill only makes you stronger.  Anyhow, only 3 days till the big day.  I am so blessed to have the wonderful friends and family who have supported me throughout my search for a better health and life for both myself and my family.  God bless you all and you are always in my heart and prayers .

Horray!

Finally!  I got the call that will lead to my new life.  I was approved by OHIP and now the journey begins.  Actually, the journey began when I first applied for funding for the surgery.  Anyway,  I am so excited.  Carlos, my husband, had his rny done last month and he's doing so well.  I am really looking forward to what God has in store for me.  I am walking a pre-ordained path that God Himself has paved for me and I have faith that He will guide me in times of confusion, carry me in times of difficulty and celebrate with me in times of success and victory.  Praise Him who loves us so much to send His only Son, that through His ultimate sacrifice our sins are washed clean. Praise Jesus Christ!!
