My story is...... I started gaining weight after my son was born 14 yrs ago. Then I got pregnant with my daughter 2yrs later. When I gave birth to her I was at my high or so I thought. I was 186 lbs. I have never been that heavy before.
I got on the Depo-Provera injection because it made my periods go away. I have endometriosis so I have the most awful periods ever. So, the periods are gone.... but the biggest side effect to the injection is to gain 8-12 lbs a year. I never thought that would be me.
Well, here I am. I weigh about 257 lbs. I have done the whole diet thing since the kids were born. I have done the Phen-fen, Medi-fast, Weight Watchers, LA Weightloss, Adkins....you name it, I have done it....just like most of you.
So it took me about two years to actually go to my doctor (which was my employer) and ask to be started into the whole Bariatric Surgery Process. I have jumped through hoops, done the sleeping test, the psych. eval, and the 6 months of dietician counselling. I have been approved to go see Dr. Philippe Quilici, MD at Cedar-Sanei hospital on the 27th of August.
I am sooooo excited. It couldn't come fast enough. I will keep everyone posted on my progress.
