CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

missmarisa 21 years, 7 months ago

Hello to all my WLS friends and family! Goodness...it's been exactly 1 year today that I took the step that has so positively changed my life! 1 year ago today I was settling into my hospital room, groggy and nicely medicated, and willing to pay a king's ransom for a sip of water!! I can't believe how much my life has changed in just 365 days! I have lost a total of 110 pounds as of today. I am 19 pounds from my weightloss goal of 160 pounds. I am on no medications, I no longer have excruciating back pain, my blood pressure is excellent (106/76) and my obesity related infertility is gone....I'm 15 weeks pregnant!!! And that is my greatest blessing so far this year! While it hadn't been my intention to get pregnant before my 1 year anniversary, the fact that I was able to get pregnant at all is a miracle! How sad that at age 25, I was diagnosed with obesity related infertility. How sad that it took me another 3 years to get over my fear of having this surgery before I finally said "ENOUGH!" and went to the Obesity Center in Morristown, NJ. Thank God that I did. Now, at 29, I'm going to be a mommy finally, thankfully! And not just any Mommy, but a happy, healthy mother who is, so far, enjoying every single moment of my pregnancy because I feel so darn good! I can't believe it was a year ago that I had my RNY. It seems like just yesterday. All I can say is...why on earth did I wait so long???? My love and blessings go out to each and every one of you! If you are just starting your WLS journey, I hope you have a safe trip, and enjoy the ride! HUGS!!

Dear Marisa~~~~I read your post today and I am glad you were so eloquent in what you had to say. Bariatric surgeons and their treatment plans ARE like snowflakes-no two are alike. That doesn't mean one is right and the others wrong. Members of this site have the responsibility not to disrespect one another's feelings. CONGRATULATIONS on your wonderful progress; I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Thoroughly enjoyed your website. Thanks again. Be happy. Be strong. Lorraine
