Ok.....well here goes....I have been over weight now for about 15 years.....right after my first son and have been that way ever since. I have tried everything to lose only to lose and gain it right back plus more. I am currently 5' 1/4 and weigh 225lbs....I have a BMI of 43 and have high blood pressure and major back problems ( I have had 3 back surgeries and the last one resulted in steel rods ). I have thought about WLS for about 3 years and finally made the final decesion this year when my doctor told me I was a heart-attack waiting to happen. I had my first visit with Dr. Celio Burrowes on Feb. 27, 2008 and it was wonderful, Dr. Burrowes and his staff was great in answering all my questions. I knew then that I wanted to proceed, but like everyone else I was convinced the insurance would not approve it. BOY was I wrong, I got final approval in 10 days. When Dr. Burrowes office called and said I was approved I was so excited I thought I would be sick...lol...I asked her what the next steps were to getting on the schedule, she said well it depends on how fast you can get your pre-op test done ( which included checking things in my body that I didn't even know I had LOL!!).....Needless to say I had everything done in 2 days...lol....had a few set backs and was beginning to think I should not do it....But prayed and God gave me the answer I was looking for and on Tuesday April 1, 2008, I will be having my long awaited surgery.....and I CAN"T WAIT!!!!!!...
