Hopefully, I'll be able to have the surgery soon after. Since we won't have to rnwait for insurance approval, it shouldn't be too long!! rn2-28-01 Met with Dr. Vitello yesterday, and feel very confident in him. He's done over 500 of these surgeries. He was very candid, and doesn't \"sugar-coat\" anything. I felt very comfortable talking with him. I think he's great!"
"Well, it's good to have a sense of humor if you go there. I'm not saying my stay was horrible, just a comedy of errors. First, when family tried to call me, no one could find me because I had the wrong phone in my room. I had an old TV with no cable (my roomie had cable) and a greenish tint to the picture, which doesn't help when you're feeling crummy anyway. My roomie was very nice, but didn't speak much English, and was hooked on either Jerry Springer or the Spanish channel. And, it's a teaching hospital, so you get the med students coming in every morning to look at you. Again, not a horrible experience, but definitely not a country club. I must say though, I had a wonderful nurse, Trinette. She was the one who figured out the phone problem, and was very attentive to me. "
"Dr. McCall is wonderful! She did surgery on my legs, as I had a severe case of lymphedema behind my knees. It was a very unusal case, and she did an excellent job. She was always available to me to answer questions, and got me through some annoying complications of the surgery. I had excessive draining for weeks after the surgery, and she was very compassionate and helpful, and always apologizing for the draining, even though it was nothing that was done wrong, just lots of fluid for me to get rid of. I look forward to going back to Dr. McCall when I have my panniculectomy and "arm job".
UPDATE: May 2004 - I've had a breast and arm lift, panni, and butt and outer thigh lift. To say I'm thrilled with the results would be an understatement. I have one surgery left, my inner thighs. I'll be forever grateful to Dr. McCall. "
