DUE TO THE HURRICANE, A LOT OF MY PLANS HAVE HAD TO BE POSTPONED, WHILE I REGROUP.
I STILL WANT MY REVISION, BUT AS THE SAYING GOE'S,"FIRST THINGS FIRST".
SO I JUST WANTED TO STOP BY AND SAY HELLO TO MY OH FAMILY.
I HOPE AND PRAY THAT ALL IS WELL WITH EVERYONE.

My appt to  see my PCP to obtain referral for bariatric surgery has been scheduled for 09/16/2008.

I spoke with Blue Cross Blue Shield on yesterday, and was told that my benefits do include Bariatric Surgery.
I only need to have the doctor submit a letter that the surgery is medically necessary along with the claim.
I am also being required to complete a Psych consult, and a nutrition consult, and also a cardiac workup since I am over 40 years old.

I attended another seminar/orientation last night, and I really feel good about this surgeon. I have made the decision to go ahead with the RNY.

My surgeon will be Dr. Garth Davis.

I only have like 1 million little details to take care of, but im okay with that.

Finally made it to my first seminar. I feel really good about the surgeon, but he he wont do a DS. Only the gastric sleeve, lap band, or RNY.

I am attending a seminar with a different surgeon on Wednesday.

Im taking my time this time around, because I cant afford to make anymore mistakes. I want to get it right this time.

The information seminar that was scheduled for August 9, 2008 was cancelled due to inclement weather.
I have rescheduled for August 20th.
Will update after that.

I received a call from the doctor's office today, and I have been registered for the information seminar on August 9, 2008 and I will also have my first consultation with the surgeon on that day.

I have provided them my insurance information, so here's hoping all goe's well.

First of all, I would like to offer my apologies for starting this page, and being so slow to follow up with it.

I am very grateful to all of the people who have agreed to be my OH friend.

I hope that things are well with everyone.

I have come to realize that I am more afraid this time around, than I was the first time.

I have registered for an information session to be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008.

I really want to have the DS, but in my research, I have found that most bariatric surgeons favor the RNY.

So I guess I will just have to wait and see.
