Thanks for the encouraging message. I really needed to hear that today. I've been losing so slowly that I quit weighing myself everyday because it was too discouraging. I had a follow up doctor appointment today with my surgeon so I thought I would get on the scales and see what kind of progress I had made. I knew that I had been losing because my hands were showing the structures more prominently and I had to go down a size in pants. The scales at home showed that I had lost either 32 or 33 pounds. I was pleased. When I weighed at the doctors office, their scale only showed me down 26 lbs! I was very depressed. I know that I had several things in my pockets, heavy shoes on etc. so when I got home I stepped on the scales at home and the scales still showed I was down 30 pounds even with everything I was wearing. I appreciate the message you sent, it was very encouraging. - Melody

Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)… RNY 10/31/03 – down 87 pounds!!! Good luck!
