Step 3 happened in October 2010 where I met with the team. At this point I was approved to the next step which was meeting with Dr. Ellsmere.
Step 4- Happened in Nov,18,2010 where I met with Dr.Ellsmere and got approval to have the surgery. My surgery date is Dec,14th,2010.

On May,14,2010 I received paperwork in the mail that needs to be filled out and sent back. The paperwork deals with pyschological questions and eating habits.

Hey All!
My name is Mel .I am 28 years old and live in Nova Scotia ,Canada. I am married to a wonderful supportive husband and have the best fur kids!!
Being 5'3 1/2 and weighing 230 lbs and having been diagnosed with Hypertension,PSOD,GERDs,and put on Metformin for Type 2 Diabetes,painful back and hip pain as well as stomach issues....,I have decided over a year ago to research WLS.
After researching WLS and getting as much information as I could through forums and people who have had the surgery or are considering it, I went to my Family Doctor and advised him that I wanted to pursue this. My Family Doctor wanted me to get my weight down but he knew very little about the WLS option available here in NS. After explaining to him the process,what is available here in NS ,and why I chose to pursue this,my family Doctor sent off the required information to the CDHA Obesty Network. My paperwrk was sent in July,2009 .I recently been invited to go to the Information Session for WLS in March,2010.
I have been living with being overweight my whole life and as I am getting older I am forming more illness and diseases becasue of it :( I wantto live a long healthy life with my husband and fur kids.
My goal is to have WLS to live a longer healthier lifestyle.I know it will not be easy road but I am willing and determined to succeed!!
