I really don't know where to start, so here it goes. I am 43 years old. I am married to a wonderful, humorous man for 20 years. We have one miracle daughter, Sara. We faced infertility for 8 years. She is such a blessing.

I never had a weight problem until I was an adult. You know they say married life does that for you. After I married, it just seemed to be one medical crisis after another and the weight just kept spiraling out of control. It seemed the harder I tried to watch what I ate and exercise the worse I became. During the birth of my daughter, I hemoraged into the adrenal glands and they quit functioning. I was very sick and in the hospital on the verge of death until an Angel Doctor from Baylor came to our small town to fill in and he figured out the problem within 2 hours and had me on the steroids and saved my life! He even slept across the hall from me on the OB/GYN floor! His name is Mark Roth. I will never forget him. After getting that crisis over, we tried to have another child, but we were not able to and eventually I had to have a hysterectomy after several surguries for Ovarian Cysts. Now moving on dealing with all the hormonal changes in my body, the weight just seemed to pile on even faster. Then the whole breast cancer nightmare 2 years ago. A Big Thank You to Margot Perot Women's Center and Breast Disease Center at Presbyterian Dallas, TX.

My primary care Dr. place me on Xenical and it worked for awhile, I was able to lose about 50 pounds but now I've put that back on plus. I joined Ladies Workout Express and have enjoyed working out most every morning during the week. I do the treadmill, also. I know the Dr.'s don't always believe me but it's the truth I do workout and sweat. I am not a candidate for bypass with the Addison disease it is just too big of a health risk and that was the only thing covered by my insurance until now but the lapband will be covered in "07 and it seems to be agreeable to my Dr.'s and they feel this is the only way I will be able to get my weight back under control. I've talked to BCBS/fep and they see no reason not to approve me. YEA! My oncologist says if I don't lose the weight I will more than likely develop Breast Cancer again because estrogen feeds tumors and fat feeds estrogen. So, I am very excited about this procedure and have signed up for a seminar to meet with the Dr.'s on Dec. 11. I can't get started until after the New Year. I can't weight until Jan. Guess your bored of reading by now so I will close and go shopping and to a basketball game to watch my nieces. I can't wait to climb the bleachers next year! It will be so much better just bounding up them with confidence. Instead of hoping not everyone is looking at the big fat momma going up them.God Bless you all!
