6 month check in

Oct 16, 2007

I can't believe it has been 6 months since I met my best dinner companion.  Ms. Lapband has been a great friend to me.  Sometimes, I ignore her but not for long.  I am doing so many things so much more easily than 6 months ago.  I'm running up stairs, riding go-carts, going up and down the bleachers at the football and basketball games no problem, shopping for new clothes and nearly fainting when I realize that I am down 4 sizes on bottom and 5 on top.  I'm so proud of me!  My Dr. says I'm already one of his greatest successes.  WOOOHOO!  Last month was very hard.  I only lost one pound and he didn't even get upset he just said you need a fill really bad.  So, I'm back on track with 6 pounds lost in the last week.  I know, I know I'm rambling, I'm just so excited to have my life back again.  The biggest and coolest thing was that when my husband went to work he said that on the of his co-workers had said they had seen me and I looked fantastic!  His wife is a body-builder so for him to notice me was really cool.

Ok, gotta go get ready for a new day!  God bless and take care everyone!

I can't believe surgery was 2 months ago.  What a whirl wind!  I am down 50 pounds as of this week.  WOOOHOO> I don't really know if I'm down a size or not.  I guess my clothes were tight and blind me didn't even realize it.  I know some of my clothes are way big but for now that feels real good.  I will need to shop for a new swimming suit soon.  I really hope that I'm down a few sizes in that.  I'm tired of wearing granny suits.  lol  I played basketball for the first time in a long, too long while.  No full-court stuff yet, but I WILL.  I go for my second fill in about 3 weeks, sooner if I feel I need it.  This is the best thing I have ever done for me!

First Consultation

I met with Dr. Anderson and staff and have fell in love with the nutrionist and psyh-med person,  Deborah and the wls coordinator, Nikki.  Dr Anderson wasn't too pleased that I really didn't have documentation of all the attempts.  I told him I didn't know over the last few years that I had tried these things that I would ever need the documentation and trashed it.  The only real records I have are at my PCP doc and I really hope that will be sufficient.  When I called the insurance company, they told me that I already meet their criteria so I guess this one was the doc's criteria.  I'm not at all pleased that I have to have a sleep apnea test as it is not required by the insurance company.  I already have a co-morbidity of breast cancer.  Oh well, ya do whatcha gotta do!  My oncologist and endocrinologist have already faxed their letters of medical necessity to Dr. Anderson.  YEA!  I attend the 2 hour psych consult on Monday.  I have a huge packet to fill out prior and while I take the test Deborah analyzes that part.  Onward, I go.
