My surgery

Im finally home. yay. Anyway, heres my story. I got to the hospital at 6.30 saw the nurses, got my gown and all the other stuff. Dr Roslin showed up abput 8.40. met w/ him and the guy who puts me to sleep. Sida the surgery should be about an hr. Well finally they call me to the or, hubby and gils walk w/ me to the area where they wait and i goto the or. I spoke to the nurse who does the cath and told her about aunt flo, shes told me thats okay. I get on the table and they start doing my iv, meanwhile im thinking, I can still back out. lol its not too late. so they give a local to do the iv and it hurt like a .......... didnt help to much w/ the pain of the iv. then we r talking and he puts the o2 mask on, asks me about my girls and thats all I remember. next thing is ms lukacs, wake up. hello, cough. I felt the tube coming out. then im gone again. I kinda wake up in recovery enough to ask for my hubby and my glasses. then they ask about pain, I was so out of it I told them a truck was sitting on my chest. So I do remember I got to my room about 1.30 because I wanted the tv on because my soap was still on, ends at 2pm. I had a morphine pump too. so hubby and family left about 2.30-3, dont remember, still tired and I must of fell asleep. I finally get up to walk its about 8pm, not too bad w/ the pain, didnt pass gass yet. So i tried to sleep but w/ the bells and beeping its a lil hard too. those of u who had the surgery at lenox hill kno what im talking about. So im now up at 5am tuesday, wtf, I dont get up that early. So they come in, take sugar test, bp, and checked urine output. 6am, i sneeze and omg, it hurt, that was the last time I used the morphine pump. So Dr Roslins pa comes in about 7am and said shes removing the cath, this was beofre they did the upper gi. who am I to complain, I wanted it out. she takes it out, then I went walking a lil bit. So they come for me for the gi, let me tell u if u thought the barium was bad for a reg gi, omfg ur in for a real surprise, this was so bitter and just plain eww. no leaks.. yay. so I goto my room and liquids for me for breakfast I had a sip of chicken broth, yuck and 2 spoons of jello. lunch was just 3-4 spoons of jello. dinner I took the jello but couldnt eat it, the crap from the gi messed up my stomach. So about 8pm my iv is leaking, im having stuff drip down my wrist, so the nurse said it needs to be removed, she call the dr on call and said i need a new one, I said no. So she comes to see me and said iif they stop my urine output will go down and blah blah blah. btw, I had already ppoped and passed gas. So she told the nurse take it out. I also had the nurse bring me ice chips to keep up w/ my fluids and I had my jello from dinner. Btw, they used steri strips to close the outside and I guess stitches on the inside. So lets see, im up again at 5am. I hope this isnt a regular thing now. I peed, nurse was happy. and tried to go back to sleep. So finally the Drs come to make rounds this is about 6.45. Asks me how im doing and I say, I peed, pooped, passed gas and walked, his response is why are u still here. So they said I can go. called home said I will be released about 11 and thats pretty much it. but i do have a question, when I sip, what should I be feeling? I feel some discomfort, like I feel the liquid moving down, I guess it fells behined the center of ur ribs. Im also on full liquids, start a flintstones chewabule vit, on sun and the calicuim citriate. Told me to follow up w/ Dr Roslin and sharon the nutrinist..well thats pretty much it. thanks for reading..
