Consult & Surgery Date!

Had my consult with Dr. L on April 11th and everything went great. The GPS we bought for the trip is absolutely the best marriage-saving device ever!! We spent a few days and had a blast. The Drury is just as amazing as everyone says it is ~ it was the icing on the cake.
Everything went ok during our appointment, but I was so hyper, I started to cough like crazy and Dr. L. finally said, "perhaps you'd like some water??" Geez...just call me Grace!! Dr. L, Julie & Elizabeth were all very nice. I think they kinda got a kick out of how wired I was and how I couldn't stop smiling & saying "thank you very much!". Well, I am a polite Canadian gal, afterall!!
Julie contacted me a week after the appointment with a date that is two days later than we'd hoped for, but we've figured out all the logistics of Plan B, and it's all good. My pre-op appointment is on June 24th & surgery is on June 26th. I can't believe how everything has come together. It seems like there have been a thousand little pieces that needed to fall into place for this to happen, and lo & behold, they did!! The countdown is on!!!

Exactly one week to the day, I received word that OHIP had approved a consult with Dr. Lu. I have scheduled my consult for mid-April and hope to have surgery in mid- to late-June. It is hard to fathom that I have a shot at normal!

Saw my PCP today and was very happy to find that he was right on-board with the OHIP application (big thanks to those who were soooo helpful!). I didn't even have time to give my rehearsed speech or the reams of supporting documentation I'd brought! And now the wait for approval begins...
