9 1/2 months out

Dec 15, 2009

It will 10 months on Christmas Day that I started my new life.  I'm still the same person, just have a different shell!!  I'm down 120 lbs.  The weight has really slowed down the last few months, but I'm totally okay with that.  I still have a protein shake each morning for most of my protein.

I was wearing a size 26/24 before surgery and weighed 273 lbs.  I'm now down 120 lbs, wearing a size 8, 9, or 10 depending on the brand and weigh 153 lbs.  I'm 5 ' 4 ".  I am so so happy that I  had this surgery.  Truly the best thing.  Spanx are my friend!  I have a size 2X that I still wear in the Spanx.  Okay I could now pull them up to my chin! but they still do the job they are supppose too!  I have loose skin on my inner thighs, tummy is okay.  I've had 2 sections, with the incision up and down, so it's not like I would wear a bikini ever.  Not thinking about plastics.  Only I see my tummy and my hubby.

I don't post much, but do read the posts on the message boards.  Life is busy as you all know.

My parents recently got high speed, so over the holidays (looking forward to 4 days off )  I hope to be able to post some photos of my weight loss surgery.

Blood work over the months has been good.  my iron was low at my 6 month check up, so now on a iron pill.

I went for a 2nd sleep study to see if my sleep apnea was gone.  NO IT ISN"T!  just a little sensitive about THIS!!  Guess all the extra weight had nothing to do with my sleep apnea. DAMM.  Still have to use the CPAP machine, with no difference in the settings!  Can't belieive it, but I can tell when I don't wear my machine that I still need it.  Wake up thru the night, and wake up with headache.

RNY rocks!
Love tucking in my shirt and wearing a belt.  Oh the simple things in life!

3 Months Post op

May 24, 2009

I had my RNY surgery 3 months ago on Feb 25th with Dr. Nunn at Barix in Michigan.

The first few weeks went as expected and I returned to work 12 days after my surgery.  I have desk job, so going back wasn't too difficult.

I have had a few issues of the "foamies". The first time was an awful experience, but now I know when I'm full.  In the beginning I didn't.  I was measuring all my food or weighing it.  Now I don't have to.

I'm down 62 lbs in 3 months!!  I can't believe it.  I was 273 and this morning I was 211 !!!  Soon I'll be in Onederland!! I can't wait.

Nothing tastes as good as getting thinner feels!!

I was wearing a 24/26 and now 18 are getting too big on me!!  Gotta love it.
