On January 22, 2009 I went to see Dr. Shirmer at UVA and he told me that he would gladly do the Lap-band. I was so excited. The best news I have heard in a while. So the next step is to have a psych evaluation for insurance approval. But Dr. Shirmer said I was just looking at about 2 months at the most. And as little as a couple weeks. I called my family doctor here on monday for a referral to a psychologist, but i still havent heard anything back from them. So if I dont hear from them by this afternoon I might give them a call back. I really don't want to prolong this anymore than I absolutely need to. So keep fingers crossed that everything goes according to plan. :)
