Happy Friday to you all. Hope your weekend is good, too.

Why are all these protein powders so sweet, even though there's no sugar in them.
I really miss eating "tart" things. I love sour tastes, but the only thing I can think of is lemonade. Once in a while  to just sneak in some "sour" I take a swig of lemon juice.

Anyway, it seems like all the WLS products are so sweet.
Anyone know why?

I've gotten through surgery. My date was August 19, 2009. I've had a very good 10 days.
My first WOW! moments: 1. No more blood pressure pills; no more instant shortness of breath; AND cool relief from constant internal heat. All in 10 days!  Yeah!

I'm a week after surgery, and am glad to say, "Doin' great" I'm gettin really sick of drinks, etc., though. I have experienced a stall, too. I GAINED ten lbs. in the hospital due to all the fluids. I have a history of needing water pill now for about 20 years, but the doctor sure didn't want me on them again until I could manage to get in all the protein and drink all the required ounces of liquid/day. Well, good news, I can now do that; I noticed my feet starting to swell again and also noticed that although I returned to pre-op weight, I haven't lost a lb. beyond that. Today my doctor let me go back on my aldactazide pills. Maybe I can get into gear again and start losing again, too. It's good to be this far!

I've got a date.....for WLS, that is. August 19, 2009. Wow hard to believe it's really coming up fast.

I received insurance approval for WLS. Yeah!
I will have the gastric bypass. Ru N Y.
Now to wait for a surgery date.
Meanwhile stay on healthy eating diet.

Yeah...got through all the tests; waiting for results; waiting now for insurance OK; start the "healthy eating" diet in earnest.

I have my first consultation with Dr. Brian Gluck this coming Thursday afternoon. Hope I have all my papers together....and my head
