Sweet, sweet protein

Why are all these protein powders so sweet, even though there's no sugar in them.I really miss eating "tart" things. I love sour tastes, but the only thing I can think of is lemonade. Once in a while to just sneak in some "sour" I take a swig of lemon juice.
Anyway, it seems like all the WLS products are so sweet.
Anyone know why?
