It has been a long long time since I last posted. Life has been truly incredible. Ten years ago today I began a new life and it has been a great one. No, it's not as easy now. After having four pregnancies two of which resulted in miscarriages, I now have two precious little girls, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. They definitely keep me going. Although I'm not that size 8 anymore, I'm still far from 510lbs that I started at ten years ago. I have gained back about 150lbs and wear an 18/20. No, I'm not thrilled about that but I'm still active with my children and enjoying life to it's fullest. Being this far out, I find that I have to "diet" and that it isn't as easy as it was in those first couple of years after surgery. I would go through this whole experience again to end where I am because I'm happy and I'm living life! Yes, I wish I were that size 8 but I'm content with the end results of having two children and finding my "sweet spot" so to speak after wls. If anyone ever has questions, please feel free to contact me!

Hello everyone! It's been 3 years since my open RNY. I can't believe it. Life is so wonderful. I am still a size 8. It does seem harder now to keep it off. That's why it's so important that we learn a new way of eating during the first few months of this surgery. It's just a tool, and it's up to us how we use it. I have never regretted the day I had gastric bypass. My life has changed in so many ways. I thank God for this new and wonderful life He has given me.

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And frie<nds to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author)FROM MY HEART TO YOU ~*~Hugs~*~

Melissa, oh my God, where do I begin. First I am so sorry to hear of the passing of your mother. I know how devasting that must have been to you. Now on to you, {{{{wow}}}}} you have lost an incredible amount of weight in a very short amount of time. You are truly blessed and have done a wonderful job. Congratulations to you on your marriage and your new found happiness. I hope and pray that happiness continues to follow you throughout your life. You deserve it and have struggled long enough not to be able to enjoy life now to its fullest. Best wishes to you and enjoy all that you can.

I am 22 post-op now and so many changes have taken place since my last post. Where do I even begin? I feel so incredible it's beyond expressing. I have now shed 350 lbs! I started out at 510 lbs and am now down to 160 lbs. I wore a tight 5X and currently wear a size 8. I had a lower body lift this past June, so I have a flat tummy now as well! I love it. In April, I got married to a wonderful man. I can do anything physically that I want to. There are no more limitations. I am so grateful for this surgery. I only wish my mother had been able to have it. She past away just four weeks ago 8-22-03. She was morbidly obese and just too unhealthy to have the surgery. I am thankful that she was able to see me transform over the past 22 months, and I believe in a way she was able to somewhat live through me. She was so proud of me. Life has definitely had it's up and downs during this journey. I thank God everyday for the chance to live again.
