FINALLY updating...

Nov 02, 2010

Okay...hiding my head in shame! for not updating for so long! I keep up with so many on FB that I haven't been to OH much in the last couple of years. As for me I am 6 1/2 years out from RNY. I got back up to 167 or so in the past summer but am back down to 152. I never made it to MY personal goal of 130 but my lowest weight was 142. (pre preg at 10 months out from surgery) So for me I feel like a success story. Other than being irresponsible and letting my iron become so low I needed an infusion a month or so ago I have had very few "issues" . Alot of things have changed ...one being divorce. If asked whether I feel like it was due to surgery I could easily say no. Our problems were  ongoing from beginning of marriage.  I know some of you hear that divorce is common after surgery and maybe it is but usually not from the weight loss. Looking forward to attending the OH convention this weekend and seeing alot of "way post ops!) and meeting new ones. Please if you are new out or preop introduce yourself. Don't feel left out...cuz even for the ones of us that have been around awhile we can still face the "shyness" some have had for years! This will be the second OH fashion show I will be in and I am very excited! The first one was RIGHT after I found out I was pregnant with my WLS miracle baby...she just turned 5 on the 18th.
(I know makes me feel old too!) Please feel free to message me if you have any questions. I need to get back to the support I used to give...

I was at the hospital waiting for surgery ..... I can't believe it has been 4 yrs! My lowest weight was 142 and I am 149 this morning. Not too bad since I  had a baby 2 1/2 years ago. While I am not at goal, I am proud of myself for not regaining any significant weight. My life has changed in so many ways I can't even begin to tell you. Being able to finally have another baby is the biggest change! The weight loss challenge I am on has reminded me of the direction I want to go and I WILL be at goal by July 5th when I turn 40. Just 14 lbs to go. Once again I have to sing praises to the TMB for being just awesome! I know I am hardly ever on anymore but I try to read and keep up. Life just takes you away sometimes. I have been on OH for 4 1/2 years and can't imagine this board not being part of my life. It connects me to others just like me. I can come here for anything and will find support. Thanks for all you do...and thanks for keeping this board active! Hope everyone has a good week.....

I am three years/ two months out from surgery and holding between 146 and 154. Down from my highest weight of 250. I got preg with my baby girl at 10 months post op. Can we say "Surprise!" But truly a miracle after three losses since daughter was born in1995. I started the preg at 142--got to 179. Within two weeks after delivery I was at 159-(up to 163)-- and stayed there FOREVER!  Just in the last few months (she is 19 mos!) I have gotten down to 146 and fluctuate up to 154. But I do seem to be losing slowly still. My ultimate goal is between 125 and 130. ( I am 5'1") I am just fighting myself to do the right things. I am very anemic and have to take alot of extra iron right now. I am just trying to get back on the protein train so I don't find myself scarfing out on junk food this summer. I keep 11 kids aged 7-12 for 12 hours a day and it is easy for me to play caregiver and forget to do what I need to do for me!!  I want to be down to 145 before the Austin convention! Wish me luck !!~~~
