Fourth Fill, and hopefully last!

Mar 26, 2008

Today was my fourth fill.  They added .5cc in my 4cc band.  I now have a total of 2.5 cc.  I was starting to get really hungry between meals and needed the fill.  According to their scales I am exactly 200 pounds.  My scales say 2 pounds less.  Whatever!  My weight loss slowed down to 2.5 pounds in one month.  Hopefully this fill will do it!  Looking forward to losing another 40 pounds.

Onederland is WONDERFUL!

Mar 13, 2008

I am so excited to say, for the first time in ten years, I weigh less than 200 pounds!  I got on the scale a few days ago and it said 199.  I have not weighed this much since I got married, over ten years ago!  It's exciting, wish it would come a little quicker.  But it is ok, I am getting thinner, no matter how long it takes!!  I went shopping today and tried on a 16 pants, it fit!  WOW!

Third Fill

Feb 28, 2008

I went in today for my third fill.  I now have 2cc in my 4cc band.  I lost 6 pounds over the past 7 weeks.  Not good!  I have struggled this past month with eating, the wrong foods and too much of the wrong foods.  Exercise has also been a struggle.  But, today is a new day.  I must remember the band is only a tool and I must treat it that way.  Good news is, according to the doctor's scale, I'm down 31 pounds.  According to my scales I am down 35 pounds.  I am so close to my first goal, onederland.  I have 1.5 pounds to go!  I hope this next month is better.  Back to liquids and a more renewed focus.

Second Fill

Jan 08, 2008

I had my second fill yesterday.  I now have 1.5cc in my 4cc band.  I had been feeling pretty good restriction and I requested only a small amount to be added.  Today was tight, but manageable.  We'll see what happens as I progress.  Good news, I lost 5.5 pounds since my last visit (within one month).  I am down 30 pounds since the day of surgery (without clothes).  Bad news, I found out what the doctor's goal weight for me was.  He put my goal weight at 169-180, my goal weight is 150.    I have learned I can no longer do breads, rice and some pasta.  Loving my proteins.  Getting my water in, but struggling with the exercise.  I have gone down from a 22 pants to an 18 and my top is down from an 18/20 to a 14/16.  I'm making progress, but sometimes it is hard to see.

My first fill

Dec 11, 2007

I made it back from India in one piece, and with whole new attitude.  But, that is for another post.  I had my first fill yesterday, almost 3 months after surgery.  I am down a total of 23 pounds.  The last three weeks I have felt myself slipping back into my old ways.  Eating way more than I should and things I shouldn't.  It was a good time for a fill.  I had 1cc put in and will return next month for an adjustment.  Ideally I should be loosing 1 to 3 pounds per week.  I'm ready to get back on track.  The good news is I've been loosing rather than gaining!  The fill wasn't too bad, uncomfortable to say the least.  Of course now, it's back to liquids and mushie foods for a few days.

Off to India

Nov 04, 2007

It's been a while since I posted, don't know if anyone reads these things anyway, but I'm off to India.  I'm excited and nervous.  I can not wait to experience life in another country.  I will miss my family tremendously.  Nine days is a long time to be without the wee little ones.  Their dad is fantastic and I know they will be just fine.  I hit a mild WOW moment today.  I got on the scales and I am now down 20 pounds, exciting.  Well, we'll see how my tiny tummy enjoys India's cuisine.  I get my first fill the day after I return; not looking forward to that!  See you when I get back from the other side of the world!

Visit with Dr. Enoch's FNP (Lisa)

Oct 11, 2007

I had another follow up appt today with Dr. Enoch's FNP, Lisa.  She is terrific.  They were going to do my first fill but WE decided it would be best to wait until I got back from India.  I'm so glad, I really wanted to wait.  Plus, I still feel restriction and I lost another pound (according to their scales).  I have moved back to solid foods, chewing slowly.  I can not drink and eat at the same time.  Hurts too much!  I also hiccup when I'm eating which tells me my tiny tummy is getting full.  I'm NOT doing very well with my protein intake and exercise, need to kick that up a notch!  Best news of all, I can now take a bath!  I love my jacuzzi tub.  I go back November 15th for my first fill.

Post-op appt

Sep 27, 2007

I had my 2 week check up earlier this week.  I have moved to mushie foods.  Not too bad!  I can handle the mushie foods.  According to the doctor, everything looks good.  I go back on the 11th for another checkup.  Hopefully, I will move to real foods then.  We decided to wait on a fill until I get back from my mission trip to India.  I'm thankful for that!  I haven't lost anymore weight, holding steady since starting solid (mushie) foods.  I am patient, 16 pounds is better than before!

Diet change

Sep 18, 2007

Moved from clear liquids to full liquids today, mood is better.  I had a bout of diarrhea yesterday and into today.  Feeling better tonight, hoping to go into work for a few hours tomorrow.  I have lost 14 pounds which seems so weird.  Don't feel any different, I'm sure it is water weight.  I go back for my post-op appt next week.  I really appreciate this website and all it's members.  Everyone has been so supportive, THANK YOU ALL!!!!!!!!!!

Surgery

Sep 17, 2007

My surgery was 6 days ago.  Things went well.  I had some problems right after surgery with nausea and low oxygen stats.  I stayed for a little while and was offered an overnight stay.  I decided I would be better off at home.  Pain was tough the first few days, the diet was manageable the first few days.  Now, 6 days out I still have pain, especially when sitting up and around my port site.  The diet is tough!  A lot harder than I imagined.  I can not put another sip of broth in my mouth.  I am going to move into the next phase of my diet tomorrow, full liquids.  I plan to go the nutrition store later today with the help of my hubby.  My other plans include going back to work on Wednesday (2 days).  Hopefully, I'll have more energy with the next phase of this diet/torture!
