My Weight Loss Breakthrough?it Was 70% Nutrition, 30% Training
Jun 24, 2025
Just wanted to share a bit of my journey in case it helps someone out there feeling stuck.
For the longest time, I believed working out harder was the answer. I was doing both cardio and strength training regularly—HIIT sessions, weightlifting splits, long walks... but the scale didn’t budge much.
What finally clicked for me:
It’s 70% what you eat, 30% how you train.
Once I started applying what I learned from the book The Glucose Revolution (yes, the one about blood sugar control), everything changed.
What I Changed with Nutrition:
-
I started eating fiber or protein first at every meal
-
I drastically cut down on added sugars and refined carbs
-
I drank a tablespoon of apple cider vinegar before high-carb meals
-
I prioritized slow-digesting, low-glycemic carbs
And the biggest surprise?
My appetite went down naturally. No more fighting cravings or late-night snacking.
My Training Routine (Still Important!):
-
Cardio: 3–4x a week (brisk walking, cycling, or intervals)
-
Strength training: Full-body or upper/lower splits 2–3x a week
-
Active recovery: I walk a lot more now just for fun
The combo finally worked. I feel more in control of my energy, and my workouts feel more effective now that my diet supports recovery.
