It has been a tough year for me. It is hard being on your own after 22 years of marriage. I have had some bumps in the road but I am getting stronger each day. Thank God for all the friends and family I have to lean on. You are all so awesome. The band has made it easier for me to get around and be healthier.

Well another year is almost half over. I have had my band 12 years. I am still happy with my decision. I can't believe all the negativity. It is sad. Weightloss surgery is not a quick fix. It is a tool.

Well, it is so odd how the band works. My band has been tight this year. I have had to have unfills 3 times this last year. How fickle is this band. I am still happy with the band but it is also unpredictable.

 I might not be someone’s first choice but I am a great choice. I may not be rich but I am valuable. I don’t pretend to be someone I am not, because I am good at being me. I might not be so proud of some things I’ve done in the past, but I’m proud of who I am today.

I may not be perfect but I don’t need to be. Take me as I am or watch me as I walk away.

I went to see my internist. I have been able to cut down on my insulin. I am thrilled. I am exercising more and have lost a few pounds.

Well I finally did it. I got a tattoo. It is on my left shoulder. It is the lap band logo with my surgery date. It is pretty sore but it wasn't as bad as I thought. This is something I have wanted to do for a long time.

I think I am the oldest bandster still around. I miss my old friends. I still love my band. I would do it again. The negativity on some of the boards gets so old. I hope my progress will inspire others to do well.
