My story is much like others I am sure. I grew up in a home where everyone was morbidly obese which meant that being fat was acceptable. Since everyone around me was fat I never felt out of place or uncomfortable and my parents did not try to keep my diet in check. I just followed in their steps. I started packing on the pounds around age 5 or 6 and never stopped. My weight during my preteen years was around 250 and as a teen through my early 20's I shot up to near 400. At my very largest I was 520 but lost around 90 pounds on the south beach diet prior to my lap band surgery. On the day of my surgery I was 425 pounds and now three years later I am down to 216. I would love to lose about 40 more pounds and am working hard to acheive that goal. My journey has been a long one but I can honestly say that the best years of my life have just begun. Good luck to all and God bless you!
