I just spoke with Laura's mother, who said that Laura is out of surgery, in the recovery room, and doing great! Dr. Rabkin said that she tolerated the procedure "extremely well," as did Dr. Chen, the OB/GYN surgeon who was on hand to remove the fibroids (apparently there were FIVE, not two, as had been suspected!). Laura was out of surgery by 12:45 p.m. PST, and I told her mother I'd check in again this evening. Add another one to the Fall Fellowship of the Switch!
