This is Mary updating--me. I made it:-) Surgery was much easier than my mind had imagined it. My doctor was terrific. Everyone in the hospital--and I mean from the RNs to the transportation guys who took me to the Imaging Dept to the dietary staff, told me how much my doctor was admired and respected. I know the nurses all worked hard to keep me happy so that I would be a happy patient of Dr. Patching's. I like a surgeon who runs a tight ship. Even the usually anonymous anesthesiologist visited with me twice to make sure I was ok and satisfied with results. So far so good. An extra day in hospital due to a very minor complication but it all worked out. I am home and very happy. Many thanks to all who wished me well, either publicly or silently--I believe it all helped. Thank you very much. Thank you to Dr. Patching, Dr. Hopkins, my bariatric and personal physician, your staffs, Dr. Dan, and to everyone at Sutter General. Thanks to this site for being a great source of support—though this site is no substitute for communication with your physician. Now, the real work begins. I am ready.
