Update

Oct 26, 2010

So I had my RNY a week ago today. On Wednesday the day after surgery it was pretty boring at the hospital. I can't sleep during the day so I walked the halls quite a few times and played on the computer a bit.  I had done my water trials earlier that morning. 1 medicine cup the first hour, 2 the second hour and 3 the third hour. If those went down then I could be advanced to clear liquids (stage 1). I was told that night that I would be going home in the morning so we made the necessary arrangements and anxiously waited bedtime so I could wake up and go home. I was so sick of being in the hospital. I was told it would be at least 11 before all the paperwork was done for my discharge. So I arranged for my ride to come at 1030am. I wake up the next morning and the Surgeon comes in shortly after 6 saying I was good to be disharged and he'd be back later. Well about a half hour later the dietician came in and gave me her speil and told me we just needed to wait for the nurses to do the paperwork and I was good to go. I decided in that time to take a sink bath and wash my hair and actually do it for the first time in 2 days. About 8:30 the nurse came in and said I was all discharged! I had 2 hours to kill before my ride came. Boy was that the longest 2 hours ever!

The Ride home wasn't too bad as long as potholes or bumps were hit. Then it was a little rough but bearable. I now see what people say bring a pillow lol. Once I got home I sat on the couch for about an hour then decided to lay down. I fell asleep on and off til my husband got home and then I came out on the couch with him and the girls. I slept well that night only tossing and turning when I needed to change sides that I was sleeping on. Thank you Lortab!

Friday came and I felt pretty good but still layed in bed on and off during the day. I did shower which felt amazing but I got really dizzy. My liquids were still going down good and I was able to get in all my protein and almost all 64 oz of water. I was 10oz shy. Saturday I felt good as well, I was able to get my protein and all of my fluids in.  Sunday I statrted on Stage 2 (soft foods). I had squash for dinner nothing breakfast and cottage cheese for lunch. I went to walmart with my mom and we were there for 3 hours (it was a supercenter) I was tired by the time I got home and just wanted to lay down but while I was there I got in 30oz of fluids. Monday was the first night I didn't take my Lortab. I had started having some aching under my right breast. It still hurts today, and it also hurts when I burp. I still have an annoying cough that I thought went away in the hospital (I had it before surgery) but it's still here so I think I am going to go see my PCP tomorrow just to check on it.

I ate some meatloaf today, I feel a bit guilty. Even though I ate my correct portion I still feel like I did something bad. I was told by the NUT I could have it though. I got my UNJURY Sample Kit in the mail today along with my BARIATRIC FUSION vitamins. I am looking forward to trying the chicken flavored UNJURY tonight for my protein drink. I am pretty tired today after going to get the girls costumes. They are going to both be Tinkerbells. They are so cute and I love them. This is a rough thing to go through, and I want to choke people who say RNY is the easy way out because it is tough! I guess that's it for now.

Oh I forgot, I have lost about 10lbs since my Surgery.
