Long time to get to goal and Beyond...

Apr 06, 2008

WOW!!  the last few months have been very stressful in so many ways that I have started losing again and am now 146.  That means I have lost more than I weigh!!

I have started a new job where I increased my income 40% (yes 4-0 not 4) and the growth opportunities are unreal.

Now that the stress of finances is starting to ease a bit I haven't lost any more which is good.  I was getting very worried.  I have however dropped more inches to have now lost a grand total of 87 inches from my body!!  that is insane!!!

Here is my current chart. Thanks for reading!!

GOAL DAY!!!!

Jan 20, 2008

I stepped on the scale today and whaddya know????   150!!!!!!!!  FINALLY!!

Quite honestly I never thought I would see that number.  I was just happy to get into the 150's at all.  Now, the thought of 140's is a true possibility!!

I am so incredibly thankful that I was able to have RNY.  My health is so much better and hopefully my family history of high BP, cholesterol, and heart issues are not in my future, or at the very least in my very distant future.

Moral of my story is that good things come to those who wait.  I really do not feel I have had any true stalls.  I have been consistently losing either weight or inches for the last 2+ years.  And I have said all along that as long as the number on the scale and/or the sizes in my closet are going in the down direction, I consider myself a WLS success.  Thanks for reading!!!

A number I have never seen!!!!

Dec 22, 2007

WOW!!!  It's all I can say.  I cannot believe that I saw 152 on the scale.  I NEVER thought I would EVER see this number.  I honestly do not ever recall seeing this number.  I am technically 2 pounds from goal but could give a rats patooty if I never make it to 150.  heck, I thought I would be in the 160's as my lowest.

Now, I am getting concerned comments from family and friends that I have lost too much and need to stop.  But, I am a little concerned too.  I am not trying to lose anything more.  Stress and personal issues have made me drop some weight recently.  I am not trying though.  I am eating my normal foods and getting in my protein and water every day.  I have also never experienced weight loss while stressed.  Normally, I gain like crazy.  All sorts of wows!!

Anywho, I have been keeping my measurements, not religiously but at least I have some dates to associate with them.  Thanks for reading!!  HUGS!!

Normal BMI!!!

Oct 01, 2007

WOW!!  Well, it took almost 2 years but I finally made it to the normal range.  A long time coming that is for sure.  I am in a loose size 10.  I have not ventured to try on an 8 but I think I may be able to at least get them on over my hips  :)

This surgery has been such a blessing.  I feel so lucky to have had this opportunity.  It has really changed my life and what I can do.  Thanks for reading!!

Down 140!!!!!!

Jul 23, 2007

I finally hit 156 a few weeks ago but never got a chance to make the "official" note  :)  I can't believe that I made it to this point!!  I haven't been this weight since don't even remember when!!  Freshman year of high school maybe???  Don't really remember!!

I just can't get over how much has changed in almost 2 years since I decided to have this surgery done.  I am a completely different person on the outside.  I like to think I am still the same on the inside but I know I have changed a bit.  I am definitely more confident and a bit more outspoken.  I am not intimidated by most people and I will stand up for myself.  Even at work I know I project a confidence critical for climbing that corporate ladder.

I got a few new pics finally too.  I am still pretty camera shy and still hide behind people even though I don't really need to.  My head still isn't quite up to speed with the way I look.

I am a better wife and mother thanks to losing the weight.   I am so grateful.  Thanks for reading!!

Scale moved

Apr 25, 2007

Well, the scale has officially been moving the last couple weeks.  I have been hovering between 161 and 159 bouncing around there since January.  It moved to 158.  No more 160's?!?!?   Hopefully.  I cannot get over that I have reached the 150's and am in a size 10/12 depending on the cut of the pants.  WOW!!  I took my little man to the zoo today and was able to walk all over without getting tired or winded from asthma acting up.  My asthma has pretty much taken a backseat over the last few months.  I have hardly had to touch my inhaler, just take my Advair everyday and I am good to go.

I do have to confess that I got off track with my vitamins the last few months but I am making a concious effort everyday to take them like I should.  I tried to donate blood a few weeks ago and was told sorry, low iron can't take you.  HUH???  They now check hemoglobin and iron levels.  Normal iron is 11-15 and it has to be 12.5 to donate.  Mine was 11.4.  Ugghh!!  Oh well.  Gave me the kick in the britches to get my vits back on the wagon.

I am so looking forward to the coming months to get outside and do all the stuff I couldn't do all those wasted years.  This is truly the best gift, aside from my son, that I have EVER received and I am grateful every day.  Thanks for reading!!

10's!!!!

Mar 15, 2007

Well, I went to get some new jeans cuz my 12's are pretty baggy.  I thought MAYBE I would be able to get the 10's and then actually wear them in month or so.  Nope!!  The 10's fit perfectly.  I have not lost any weight now for almost 2 months but I am losing inches like crazy.  Clothes that fit well a month ago I am now swimming in.  And things I never thought I would be able to fit in are actually kinda big.  This is unreal.  I have not been in a size 10 since senior year in HS...1993!!!!  If I do not lose another pound I do not care.  I am at my goal, size wise.  Thanks for reading!!!

Another pound...

Jan 10, 2007

OHMYGOSH!!  I am in the 150's!!!  159 today!!!  I am in my goal range!!  9 pounds from goal...holy schnarkies Batman!!!!!

Holy buckets!!

Jan 07, 2007

I hit 160 this morning!!  I am 10 pounds from goal.  How in the world has this happened?!?!?!?  WOW.  My weightloss has really picked up again in the last couple months.  For a while I never thought I would get past 172 and here I am at 160 and still losing.  The inches are also dropping.  My waist is 35----35!!  Smaller than DH.  I started at 48" for just my waist.  I have lost over 70 inches off my body.  I wish I would have done my measurments pre op.  As it is I started at almost 8 weeks post op.  This is an amazing journey!!  Until next time...

Another year...

Dec 31, 2006

Well, I made it through the Holidays and lost weight.  Unreal.  I cannot get over all the changes this year.  It has been full of wow moments and firsts.  I am in a size 12 almost a 10...down from a tight 26.  I have spent lots of time outside doing yardwork and playing with my son, going down jungle gym slides and swinging in tires.  Things I definitely couldn't do at almost 300 pounds.  What a year.  Bring it on 2007!!  I'm ready for the future!!
