Well, this has been quite a year. It started with Gallbladder surgery in January. While recovering, I began getting pain in my ribcage that progressively got worse. In July, I went for an ERCP to diagnose the pain and developed pancreatitis (from the procedure) and the doctor still found nothing wrong. Then I noticed two "cysts", one on each side of my abdomen. My doctor said it was "fatty tissue" and I disregarded it. Two months later, I went to another doctor because the cysts have nearly doubled in size and he says I have a "tumor" and sent me for a CT scan. I had that done last week and had a reaction to the iodine but got through the procedure. I will find out in two days, the results. I expect that I will have to have a surgery to remove the tumors and pray they are benign. One is the size of a grapefruit, the other is slightly smaller. All of this has to be taken care of before I can get scheduled for the bypass surgery. Because of my insurance, I am having to wait until March for my consultation with the surgeon. I am trying to switch from Blue Cross to Kaiser but that requires a move to another town. I'm willing to do it if it helps with better insurance. Blue Cross is good but compared with Kaiser, it is more expensive and has less benefits.
