Hello welcome to my story,
I am 58 and have been obese most of my life, I started thinking about WLS in Janurary of this year 2008, I started going to a Doctor in lenexa kansas she said she did the DS surgery, but she wanted to do it in two surgeries, She basically did the Gastric Bypass or the Lap Band, after I researched more about her she had only performed four of them kind of scared me, But them my insurance would not approve her or her facility, and it was a COE facility, I think the Lord was looking out for me. At this time my Hubby decided he wanted the DS also, So I started researching again, I heard Anthone in Nebraska was a good Doc, But he only does open surgeries, So I finally found Dr Alverdy in Chicago, went for my consultation in March and my husband and I are both having our surgery the same day, I can say goodbye to my Diabetes, Sleep Apnea, High Blood Pressure and be healthy again, I have been doing a lot of praying about this and I feel it is the right thing to do, I have one son and one Grandaughter that lives with me, She is gleam in my eye, But somedays she is a typical teen ager that needs to locked in a closet till they are grown just kidding, But it is a challenge somedays, I have grown up in Missouri and love it here, We are very luck my husband and I have all of our families close around and that is a real blessing, For right now that is all I am going to write.
