I went to see Dr Georgen today, along with the diabetic coordinator and dietician. Surgery is two weeks from tomorrow. I'm scared/anxious/nervous/excited....but I know in the end it will all be worth the little bit of discomfort.

I went for my all day testing on Nov 20th, and I've got my weight down from 370 down to 332. Cant wait until the weight just starts falling off. The doctor figures I need to lose about 150 pounds yet, so I'll be right around 180. Not a bad weight

Apparently I will probably be in the hospital a week though, because of being in a wheelchair. That will actually make that first week a little easier on me. I'll at least be in the hospital for a big transitional period. And then I dont have to worry about food for that week either...yay!!

I'm just looking forward to my surgery, even through my fears and anxiety.

Its been a while since I've posted...but thats because in January I found out that I only had 5 consecutive months with my doctor, not the needed 6. So in February I had to start them all over again. Now its August, and I've got the 6 months in, and the doctors just need to fax 2 more things in, and it can be submitted to insurance.

Hopefully I can get approved right away, and we can set up a surgery for sometime in September. I'm excited but scared all at the same time. Only scared because I never like having surgery, but so excited that my life will be changed so much.

I have to call and make an appointment to talk to the Bariatric dietician, but its all good. Looking forward to finally being able to move forward with all this.

I'll post more as it becomes available...and things should finally move along quicker now!!

I finally called Midwest Bariatric Experts yesterday, and got an appointment set  up to talk to Dr. Raymond Georgen. I'm really nervous about it, but excited at the same time. I hope he can help put some of my worries to rest.

I think one of the things I'm most excited about, is losing enough weight to get fitted for braces again so I can walk around. Plus that will help my shoulders and arms alot too.
