I have NEVER not just shoved food in my mouth just because I wanted to!  (Yeah, I even had to re-read that awful double negative sentence!)  It's awesome to not feel hungry and to feel in control over what I put in my mouth!  Even if it is just a protein drink!  I feel like I want to nurish and treasure my body instead of grab the first sugar laden item that crossed my path!  I hope this continues......

I had RNY surgery this past Tuesday, May 4th.  Of course, I was a little scared of the unknown, but other than that I was fairly calm.  The night after surgery was a little scary for my nurses I guess as they had a difficult time maintaining my oxygen levels!  I felt anxious because I did have difficulty breathing, but the staff got it back under control!

I am so blessed that I didn't have the painful "gas" experiences that a lot of people have.  Oh, my stomach is grumbling and bumbling but I'm not in pain at all.  The gas just releases naturally and there's hardly any smell. 

I am sleeping sitting up, which is uncomfortable.  I'll be glad when this passes!  I long for my comfy bed!!

I pray moment by moment and I know my God is with me!  Blessings to everyone!

It's 4:30am and I've been awake for about 1/2 an hour.  I'm too nervous to sleep.  I changed my my mind this week-end and decided I wanted the sleeve, only to find out my insurance, BCBS of MN, won't pay for it!!!!  It seems less risky and less costly to me, but I can't afford to pay for the whole thing!  Guess this insurance issue will only worsen with Obama-care! 

Surgery is at 10:45am, I am to be to the hospital at 8:45am.  Nervous and anxious!

I knew I had been fat for 5 years; prior to that, I was just a little "fluffy!"  I had my forth child 6 years ago and I just couldn't get the weight off that creeped upon me over this period.  I met a friend last September who was one year out from RNY.  She looked great, felt great and had no complications at all from RNY.  This got me thinking..... 

I began my journey in November of 2009 by attending a weight loss information class given by the surgeon my primary physician recommended.  I received a rejection from BCBS of MN in March and appealed it myself.  I am now scheduled for surgery on May 4th, 2010!
