 Hi Folks!

Yes, I haven't written in a while, I have been so busy. I have completed my BA and another semester of tutoring children. It amazes me how much a few pounds in weight loss can improve ones quality of life.

I have been at a stand still on my weight loss but I am okay with it, but let me tell you, I am okay with it. I am not very close to my "ideal weight" but I can move. By this I mean that I can climb up a flight of stairs without being out of breath, I can ride my bike and take long walks without my back or legs going out, and the best part it that my blood pressure is normal and I am no longer a diabetic.

I have been having problems with irregularity and so I decided to start taking "Body Choice High Fiber Hoodia."

The oddest thing was that I took it first thing in the morning, and about 1 hour later, energy! I felt so charged but not overdone. This energy lasted from 11 until 4 and then again after dinner for another hour. Also, the fiber in this worked great! Of course this is my first day, but I will keep you posted on my progress.

I am truly a slacker!!! I have not kept up with my blog... see how I am!?!?!?!

I have been busy with school, homeschooling and work, not to mention the usual chores around the house :o)

I go in Thursday or a fill. I am in the process of getting up to that Sweet Spot we I can eat enough but not to much. I think I am at 5cc right now but I use to be at 9cc but I ended up with acid reflux and phlegm.... nasty stuff.

I am very grateful to not eat like I use to. Here is an example.... I would get am 8oz steak with half slab of ribs, fries, green beans, salad, 5 rolls, and a desert to boot!!! Today my husband, son and myself will share the same meal but we no longer have fries, rolls, salad, and we share a the green beans!

Thank you LORD!!!

I am now off to do the laundry :o)

Wow have I slacked off or what?!?!

I have been oddly busy with homeschooling my son, my own school work, and tutoring outside the home.  Sigh.... what a busy silly woman I am.

I am going in for a fill on the 22nd and I am so excited.  I am so close to hitting a new weight loss  goal. Now it wont be THE goal but certainly a goal.

I tell you, when I had to have my band emptied out, I hated not being restricted. I think it was more of a fear that I could easily put to many pounds back on, and I don't want to be that "fluffy" anymore. No thank you!

Sorry to keep this so short, I have a term paper to write.

TTFN!!!

I am back on the wagon and I love it!

I had to get my band unfilled because I got something stuck, then I got unfilled. 2 months later and Dr K pit in 3 cc's and I am good to go.

I did not like having no restriction, eating a small meal would not be enough but I refused to eat any more then a small amount. Sadly during the 2 months I gained 15 lbs, but I am on my way to losing it again!!

Let me tell you about my adventure....

So i started having issues last week, couldn't swallow solids but I was okay with that.  Then I couldn't swallow my own spit, what was that all about!!  My hubby ended up taking me to the ER which is never pleasant, especially since we don't have insurance.

So I show up and they stick an IV bag in me, and then another one. I was hoping that they would just un fill my lapband and send me home but they kept me for observation overnight.  The next morning my lapband was unfilled and all the pain was gone.  I had 9cc removed and just when I was thought they would put at least half of it in, nothing!!

I am feeling much better but I don't like not havung restriction.  I am being very careful with what I eat, I even did 1 while week of liquids but i need my fill.  I am so afraid of getting the weight back, it isn't even funny.

I usually get my fills via floroscope but that will cost me $650 cash up front!!  I should be going into the office sometime next week and I pray that my port will be found with the first prick!! I need my fills!!!

Anyone out there have the same experience?

How silly have I been? I haven't updated this in a long time... the good news is that I am making progress.  I have been on this adventure for over a year but I fell like I am finally making progress.

Is it the weight loss thing? Nope.
Is it the eating thing? Yes!

I actually eat to to survive... I finally get it.  I can go out and enjoy a meal without eating it. I know... weird huh? I am more of a picker now... and I like it!

We will be going to Disneyland, this has always been  a goal for me, will i fit on the rides? I sure pray I do... I will keep you posted!

Happy Friday and many of GOD's Blessing to you all!!!

I am discovery the joy of not eating.  Last night I cooked a bunch of hot wings, Yeah Protien, and I was only ably to eat 2 of them, sweet! At first I was like Arg but then I was like, this is good.
I will be honest, I haven't lost as much weight as I would have liked but I haven't been gaining either. I have had my band for over a year now and I have lost about 50 BUT my shirt size when from a snug 5x to a comfortable 3x. And my pants have gone down to a 2x. HELLO!!!!
I have been a late bloomer in the art of embracing my band. But I am understanding it now. I have noticed some new things about my liitle buddy... Here is a list of them :o)

*I can't eat hamburgers, both meat and bread BUT I can eat a dense, whole wheat bread, that Costco sells, and it has to be very toasted and I put butter on it.

*I can't eat anything before 2pm, except for Tuna with the works and only about 1/2 cup.

*Salad is no longer my friend.

*And here is the biggie, I can actually eat protien, veggies (cooked) and fruit around 6pm.

So as weird as it sounds, I eat once or maybe twice a day, and my main meal happens in the evening. OH! And I have decided not to eat after 9pm, so I have to make it quick :o)

I am not discouraged by not losing tons of weight, I figure that this way my body tightens up a little bit more.

Hope this helps anyone who reads it!!!

I am have learned so much about my band these past few weeks. For example, I can't eat salad now, I use to but I can't do it anymore, and if I do, I get a PB, EW!  Though I seem to platue on my weight, I am now in a 3x compared to the 5x I was in at the same weight. I seem to be losing inches apposed to pounds.
Anyone else have these experiences?
I will say that I am tight enough, I get full nice and fast, and I like it that way. I haven't lost so much weight in my 1 year of having the band but I tellyou, 50 lbs is still a lot nicer than lugging those extra pounds around.
This year I plan to really make an effort to get down a few more sizes. Sadly I wasn't able to see my family again, but I haven't lost hope. I pray that the Lord will allow me to see them this year, and when I do, I wan't to look healthier than when I last saw them.
