5 1/2 months post op...

Jun 07, 2008

It's  been a busy 5+ months.  I have started back to my old job, gone back to college, and have lost over 100 lbs!!!  Although I have been experiencing a 6 week plateau, I have begun to start losing again, and am staying positive!
Just the other day, I looked in the mirror and actually saw what everyone was telling me... I look so good!  Yes, I still have 80 lbs to go to reach goal, but it was so great to be able to really see the changes that my weight loss has made to my body, and my life!
Since I have lost the weight, I am experiencing less joint/hip pain... I no longer have to live on Aleve just to sleep at night!  I have gone down from a 30/32 to a 22/24 so far, and am bordering on moving down to the next size!  I just cleaned out my closet for the first time giving away clothes that were too big for me instead of for being too small! Talk about a feeling!  It's a bit scary since those things can be a bit of a security blanket, but it was so good!
I also have more energy and find myself more motivated to do more with my days and with my life.  It is fantastic to feel as though I have a future!  And to know that I have some of the tools, that I didn't before, to make that future more of what I want it to be... not just end up in it!  It has been a VERY long time since I have felt that way in my life!  (I was a kid the last time!)  I can;t wait to see what the next 6 months brings!

2 Weeks Post-op

Jan 02, 2008

Ok, well I am just over 2 weeks post-op and, so far, I haven't had many issues.  I am a day or so into phase 3 eating & doing ok on it.  I have to work on getting more protein, and as always... liquids (mainly since I have a difficult time with them since the surgery).
I have had some down days but I know that comes with the territory & try to stay focussed on my goals everyday!
Thank you all for your words & good wishes!

It's the final countdown...

Dec 17, 2007

Well everyone, surgery is finally less than 24 hours away!  I am scheduled for 8am tomorrow morning!
My feelings are a mixture of anxious & excited as I count down the hours.  Luckily I still have a few things to do to get my household ready for the next few weeks, at least, so it will help to take my mind of off things a bit.
Keep me in ur prayers!  I will post as to how i am doing when I get home.  Thanks to everyone for their encouragement & kind words!
