GOAL!!!

Nov 26, 2010

I'm actually a little late on posting this. I hit my goal about 2-3 weeks ago, actually a couple of lbs below. 138! I started this journey at 228. 90 lbs lost! Wow, I never thought I would be posting this. I really thought I was done losing back in May. I stalled for 5 long weeks and I thought ok, this is it I'm done. I think at that point I was over thinking everything and wasnt tracking my food. I started logging my food on myfitnesspal.com and all the sudden I started losing again. I have averaged 10 lbs a month for the past 4 months. I met with my Nut about a month ago and we discussed my maintenance plan. I am to eat about 1200 calories a day and walk about 2 miles a day 4 times per week. I've done really good on my calories but not so much on the walking. I have maintained the WL so far, within 3-4 lbs but am  a little scared to weigh after this Thanksgiving Holiday. I was not able to eat near as much as I have in the past but the pecan pie has gone down waaaay to easy. After several pieces, that bad boy went in the trash! LOL! Oh well, I have 2 more days before I weigh again so I will stay on program until then and see what happens. This has been an amazing journey and I continue to look forward to maintaining my WL for the rest of my life. I know it will not be easy but I am up to the challenge. I had this surgery for a reason, my health. I DO NOT want to go back to where I was so I will stay on top of things and if I see too much of a weight gain, I will go back to the original plan. I am living and enjoying life now so we will see how this goes!!! This has been the best thing I have EVER done for myself!!!

60 LBS GONE!!

Jun 28, 2010

I have been in a stall for the past 2 weeks. I seem to do this alot. 5 week stall, then lost 5 lbs, 2 weeks stall, then lose 3 lbs. Another 2 week stall, then lost 3 lbs today. I guess this is going to be my losing pattern. Still not bad, I will take 10 lbs for the month of June. I now only have 18 lbs to make my first goal of 150 lbs. Once there, then I will decide if I want to go lower or stay there. I am so excited about this journey. I think I finally get it. I am not constantly worrying about my food, like when I'm going to eat and what I'm going to eat. I think I was trying to eat more calories because I was afraid I was eating too low but now I feel I am eating normal. Not forceing anything, I am now letting it come naturally and it feels good.
I'm lovin my sleeve!

No Longer Diabetic!!

Jun 13, 2010

I just celebrated my 4 month surgiversary on 6/08/2010. I am sooo amazed with my sleeve. I have lost a total of 54 lbs. I am also coming up on my 5 month aniversary of being smoke free after 30 years. Yeah!!
I went to my PCP a couple of weeks ago to have my diabetes testing done and received the best news ever about a week later. The letter said when I originally was tested for diabetes by AC1 was 7.2 and was 7.8 at the highest. To be considered non-diabetic a person's AC1 has to be 5.7 or below. I was at 5.2. The best words I have ever read said, you are no longer considered a diabetic!! OMG!! Your kidding me!! I am no longer diabetic!! It took 4 months and losing 54 lbs! AMAZING!! I am a happy camper right now
