Well Here goes...... I'm in the process of starting my WLS journey. I have found a surgeon in my area (Dr.Chebli). Turned in my initial paperwork and his office sent me the grand ol packet I have to complete. My first appointments are when I return home from school next week, so I finally get to start making checks of my list so heres how my schedule is for that week

May 13 - Meet with primary care physician
            Blood Work
            X- RAY
And anything else I can get checked off while im there
May 15 - Nutrition Eval.
            Sleep Medicine Consultation
So fun times...lol....I am just glad that now I feel that I'm actually in the process and making steps towars my goal!

So.... I guess I should do an introduction of myself.....Well I am 21 years old, I am a college student Double major in Finance and Accounting...(yea I know..boring)...Anywho as far as my weight is concerned my peak was at 280lbs im 5'3 1/2 so not a good look...currently I'm at around 270ish..I decieded that I wanted WLS after seeing the success of a few of my relatives. In the the past two years my aunt, uncle, and god-mother have all had the surgery and LOOK and FEEL Great! And not to mention my father is scheduled for July and my mother has already started the process.

My struggle with my weight began when I was around 7 yrs old every since then I have been overweight or obese. Through middle school and high school I felt the sting of being overweight. No boyfriends, no men trying to flirt with me. I was extremely self-concsicious always needing reassurance from my firends . Not to mention all my friends were extremely gorgeous so I was really the odd ball amongst them. When I came to college I began to come into myself, fix myself up a bit more. Still very self-conscious but now able to mask it more. By my junior year I started feeling good about myself (although still obese) my confidence begin to grow and it is true what people say ,when you have confidence somebody will be attracted to you.Anywho, even so from my freshmen year until now I've gained around 45lbs...And I know even with my new found confidence that I am not at my best.....And now that Im heading towards 300lbs I can feel the side effects of this.. I should not have knee and joint pains at 21 and get winded by short walks. I thank god that I havent been effected by other co-morbidities....  (that I know of)

So if anyone who has had the surgery or if your in waiting mode like I am or going through the insurance run around please post a comment or send a message. I would galdy appreciate any advise...Thank You!
