I was next to devastated when the doctor's office called to tell me that I was turned down.  But it was because I needed 3 nutritional classes instead of 2, as I had be told when I called for confirmation.  I will call the nutritionalist tomorrow, because I have been attending them all along and to my calculation, have 4 sessions already completed.  I will see what she says.  Please keep me in your prayers... that I will get a good response.  I have myself so ready for this surgery, that I never gave it a thought of what I would do if I was not approved!  : (

I survived the holiday dinner last night!! I was so proud of myself... I ate a small plate of food and stayed out of the sweets and high fat items.  I was hungry when I got home, but atleast I could eat healthier because I don't have that kind of stuff in the house.  I haven't had surgery yet, but trying to prepare myself for my new healthy living.   Just wanted to say Merry Christmas to all!!

Today I had my endoscopy to check for the h.pylori and the status of it.  Yes!!  The doctor came in and relieved me... everything looks great!!  So on my way home from the hospital, I called the office to see when they were going to send my information into the insurance... Lisa, my bariatric contact, said she had just talked to Dr. McBean and he has cleared them to send the information off for approval!!  Yes!! Yes!!  I really feel the ball is moving now!!

I feel like I know Lisa personally, I have spoke to her on "so many" occasions and she has been super with answering all  my questions.  Now... I am just awaiting a date for surgery contigent on my approval!  It is becoming so surreal!!  I can't wait to become the "new healthier me". 

I made it through the series of medication for the h.pylori parasite.  Hopefully, when I get my scope done on the 21st it will show none left!  I had my cardiologist's appt yesterday and have been cleared for surgery so all that is left to do is the scope...get insurance authorization....and set the date!  I have been told that January is going to be my month.  I say.... NO BETTER BIRTHDAY GIFT TO MYSELF THAN MY DATE...   : )

I have been on medication for over a week now for this h.pylori parasite that was found in my stomache.  We just talked about this during our last month's meeting and who would have guessed that I had this.  I am thankful to God that it was found and that I have been able to keep the medication down; however, I will be extremely glad when I am done with it altogether! Another disappointing factor is that it has pushed back any possibility of having surgery in December because they have to scope me to make sure everything is dead and gone and access the damage.  Oh well, my birthday is in January and what better gift to myself!!  : )

Most of my tests have come back; cardiac appointment scheduled for December 9th... however, so far I have discovered that I have high cholesterol, high tryclicerides and my liver enzimes are up (among high blood pressure that I've had for years).  The latest lab results showed I have a stomache parasite and I have been taking large doses of antibiotics and an inhibitor to kill it.  So I am now up to 13 pills a day and I am not feeling to good about myself.  It's all the more I can't wait to have my surgery.  Where I can ditch some of these pills but most of all feel better, have energy and live life again.

I have been doing so much research and I must say that both the surgeries have their pros and cons...but still which one is right for me?  I am leaning more toward the RNY ..but will continue talking to as many people as I can before posing questions to my doctor. 

Today I went for consultation on lapband surgery.  I am excited, yet a little apprehensive.  I really need to get this weight off and to keep it off so that I can become healthier and live longer.  So my plan is to do as much research and support groups as possible to help myself come to the conclusion that this IS what I want.
