Been a long time....

I must say that I am loving life to the fullest. The best thing that I could have ever done was have this life saving RNY. I can't stress enough how good it feels to be able to keep up with my children and grandchildren. I am constantly on the go and prior to my RNY I couldn't even attempt to do much bcuase of all the pain I had carrying all the extra weight.
I am now 4 years and 4 months post op and I want you all to know that keeping the weight off is a life long battle. After so long your body can tolerate foods you couldn't tolerate efore and so you start experimenting with foods that got you in trouble before having my RNY.
This is definitely not an easy way out like many believe. This is a life long commitment and if I screw up I will definitely pack on the pounds. One thing for sure is that this is a tool I have that will continue to work as long as I work it.
If you are looking to have weight loss surgery please know that this is hard work. But hard work that pays off forever!
Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns I will be more than happy to share my experiences.
Wishing you all the best in your journey.

Taking two steps forward
Jun 25, 2009
Slow and steady has not always been an inspiring concept. It's not as sexy as speed and sharp turns of direction. But it may be just the thing to keep you from running out of gas, while still moving you forward. Abe is telling us that the most important thing is to keep walking forward, no matter how slowly. Sometimes slowness can be frustrating. You might become impatient; you might get discouraged with a setback. But a setback doesn't have to set you back. Simply using it as a learning opportunity can leapfrog you ahead again. From now on, try paying attention more to your direction and less to your speed. Be patient, focus on a little bit at a time, and soon enough, you'll be further than you ever thought. Besides, it's a good bet that by always looking forward, Abe rarely looked back in regret.
I am a slow walker, but I never walk backwards. - Abraham Lincoln, U.S. President |

Happy Halloween

The kids had a great time. The baby was sick with a cold so we couldn't keep her out for long. We took her to two of my neighbor's house and we brought her back in. Gianna & Gino Jr. had a great time. Gino jr. had a cold but nothign was stopping him from trick or treating. Here are a few pics of the kids. I dressed up as Elvira but I didn't get any accessories. Just some black lipstick and black nail polish was enough for me.
Enjoy!
