My story began when I was in my teens.  I have been overweight my entire life and it has been getting worse every year due to having to take steroids for my asthma.  Of course, if my weight was much less then my asthma would be better.  I know this since there was a time that I was close to my goal weight and the asthma wasn't even an issue.  I was able to workout 5-6 days a week without getting out'of-breath and I actually looked forward to exercise.  During the past 4-5 years my weight has increased by leaps and bounds.  My BMI is 56.8 and I've never weighed as much in my life.  I look forward to the days ahead when I can sit in a movie theater without having to raise the arm rest next to my seat so that I can fit more comfortably.  I look forward to not having to take all the medications I do to control my blood pressure, cholesterol, blood sugar, asthma, GERD, and depression.  I hope to some day not have to wear a C-PAP machine at night. I want to be able to be active with my kids and someday soon my grandkids.  I ahve been contemplating having WLS for over 2 years and am excited and nervous that the day is getting closer.  There is a light at the end of the tunnel.
