Well, it happened...

I was commenting this weekend, that I was grateful and somewhat surprised that I had not had any complications after my WLS, not even had anything get stuck. Tonight while still at work, I was eating my dinner--protein-packed, homemade snow chili. I was carefully, chew-chew-chewing and I felt a bean slip down my throat and there was no pulling it back up and I thought "Crap!" And sure enough...it got stuck! It wasn't a really bad stick, didn't quite feel like a heart attack as my sis-in-law has warned me, but it was very uncomfortable. Thank God it was just a bean and not a piece of chicken!! I got up and walked around for a bit, but I'm receptionist for a very busy cardiologist and had to get back to the desk to check out pts. So, when I could get away from the desk again, I just walked up and down the hallway, and finally it started easing...Wow! do not want to do that again!!
